But I run out of ideas after a while...... It seems like I do the same basic layout all the time, just with different photos, embellishments and journaling....I've even torn pages out of magazines trying to help, but I never seem to have the stuff needed to do the page I find!! DRATS!

I know how you feel! Whenever I get into a rut I go find an OLD magazine rather than a new one. Sometimes seeing a layout that doesn't use all the latest and greatest products can spark some creativity. Also, try finding pages that show the "sketch"-Scrapbooks, Etc is a great magazine for this. That way you aren't distracted by the products, and you can just focus on the shape of the page. Another great way of getting out of a rut is to have a friend look at your pictures and do a basic layout for you. Even if you don't use their layout, it's a great way to get a new perspective on your work. Hope this helps and good luck!

As a suggestion, I have heard that when you start to "catch up" on your scrapbooking start with the most recent pictures first. They are the most fresh in your mind & then you can go back & get the older ones as time allows :)

I have Cherish and my friends have the other books...they are life savers!!! Even if you don't copy the whole layout, I like to use them as springboards and adapt the rest of the page to my taste or whatever materials I have. My fave of the three though is the original book, Cherish!

Close to My Heart has 3 different How to Books that have multiple layout options, and you also have the cutting diagrams and instructions PLUS there are tips and techniques and you can rotate each layout creating a different look ... up to 20,000 different layouts in only one of the books... you can see them on my website www.shellyharris.myctmh.com >online shopping>how to programs> Cherish, Imagine, Reflections and for card lovers... Originals. Hope this helps.
