I posted this same advice to someone wlse in your situation the other day...

Some women have bridge or book clubs, some have girls night out. My friends and I started a scrapbook club, and every Wednesday we pitch in for a group sitter and have our Scrapbook club. Each week has a dedicated theme (i.e. halloween, birthday, girls just wanna have fun, theme parks day). You feel less guilty about taking time for yourself when peer pressure is involved. And the kids are having a blast with one another at their "movie night or whatever." Each week someone brings the snacks, and someone brings the wine. :-D

I would prefer to scrapbook than watch TV. So when everyone else is watching TV after their kids go to bed, that is when I begin and sometimes I am up till the wee hours.

Yes I agree with having fun with my 5 year old as we scrapbook together - it is the 1.5 year old that makes the problems with just messing everything up by scattering or taking things and hiding them LOL....I will include him too when he is older though.

Seems like after the second child can along, I just couldn't find the time to fit scrapbooking back in. I have everything ready to go to start on his baby album...but where's the time? Argh!

hello, I am a mother of 4 kids. i have been scrapbooking for about 9 years. 2years ago i found out about digital scrapbooking. let me tell ya it has saved me time and MONEY! I have not spent a dime on scrapbooking... AND you dont have to put it away:) all you have to do is find a scrapbooking program, u can buy them at like office max or u can find them online for free. i use photoshop 7 but there are way cheaper ones out there. Here is a site where u can find free scrapbooking stuff http://ikeagoddess.blogspot.com/ go there and start downloading freebies from different people's blogs.. you wont regret going digital! if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I find that if you have a little space to leave it out of course hand reach, then you can just go over and put a few pages together even if it is only 15 min.  The other option you have is digital scrapbooks, easy and fast. You can go to my website and see what digital is all about. www.mycmsite.com/denisemills and go into digital under the helpzone.  There is webinars that you can watch and see what it is about.  let me know what you think.

I started scrapbooking when my daughter was 3.5 and wsa preg with my second - now he is 1.5 and I don't see any scrapbooking in my near future...LOLby the time the kids are in bed and the house is cleaned up, I'm too pooped to get out the supplies and then put them away again....I do take a few pages and supplies to a friends house every so often just to feel like I accomplished some.

hi, I know what you mean. I have 2 children so can't leave all my stuff out on the dining table all the time and its too much hassle to get everything out and put away again for a few hours. If any of you live in Fareham/Portsmouth/Southampton area tho let me know cos I run a Creative Memories scrapbook workshop on a monthly basis. We get together the 1st Tuesday of the month and it's a good chance to help each other out and time for just girly chats too! You can always come and join us - I have new people join every few months. Just send me a post and I can tell you all about it. Lynn x

Hi, nice to meet you. I have 3 children like you. The biggest thing I find is to have everything ready. Take it in steps. When you get pictures printed, seperate and label them. Write notes on the calendar as to what happened so you can jog your memory. Maybe place somethings in similar areas to just pop you pages together. Then when I do have time it doesn't take me an hour to set up and you have to stop and got nothing done.

I only seam to be able to do it if I go away to do it or stay up till the wee hours of the night, like I"m doing right now! :) I have started going to a free monthly scrap night at a local church, I have done it in the past at a different church, so I know the groups are out there! Maybe if you look online you can find one or start one?? Also I go away on weekend scrap retreats about 1x every season, you  get sooooo much done at those & it's a ton of fun!!! I have 4 kids & sometimes, it's just nice to get away for a break & reminise the good times when scraping w/the ladies! :) I hope this gives you some hope!

Hi Dawn, I have two boys, ages 6 yeas and 11 months.  I miss scrapbooking too.  My house doesn't have any "extra rooms" or space, so I can't set up a certain place to scrapbook. What I do, is try to attend a crop night at a friend's house once a month or so. I also try to host a crop day where I invite friends to come over and have my husband either take to boys out or have him watch them while the crop is going on.  Also, my son's school, based out of a church, has one night twice a month (more or less) where I can go scrapbook for 2 hours during the week.  I take any small advantage to blow the dust off my equipment to get some memory making time in. Good luck, hope this has helped.

I too have three little munchkins and find it very hard to find the energy to scrapbook at home. I have several friends and co-workers who are as addicted as I am and we get together at least once per month to crop. In addition, we book a mountain resort 2 x year where food and everything is provided, our only concern is completing the pages. It definetly makes it much easier to get pages done. Be patient, time will come.

I also have 3 little ones so have a really hard time finding time to scrapbook. I haven't gotten anything done in months. I try to go to a scrapbooking weekend at least twice a year with my girlfriends. That way I get some girl time and get some scrapbooking done.

Hello Dawn, it's nice to meet ya!!!!  I'm missing scrapbooking right now too but it's because I've been in bed since Sunday with the flu.  When I haven't been sleeping then I was looped up on the flu meds.  When I had any moments of feeling coherant then I was on here talking about scrapping cause obviously I can't scrap in bed so I know what you mean about missing it.  Normally though, I scrap from a card table in front of my chair in the den.  That way I am spending time with my family watching TV and scrapping at the same time.  I'll be glad when I'm up to sitting in the den again so I can get back to it.  Happy scrapping to you!!!
