My daughter is tunring 1!!

What I did for my daughter's 1st bday was I took pics of her opening presents, not eating her cake (she wanted nothing to do with it), and the decorations. I did something a little different than post it notes. I had 2 scrapbook pages with rainbow colored stars on them and a black and blue scrapbook pens for people to write a note to my daughter. It is so neat to look back and read what everyone (including my husband and I) wrote. I also went to my computer as soon as the party was over and typed in the names of everyone who was there and gave her a play-by-play of what happened that day, including the presents she got. I knew that if I didn't do it right away, I would forget things. I also put in one of her invitations. I found some cute pages that have a teddy bear with presents, balloons and streamers on them and I just arranged the pics I liked around the pages in chronological order. How about doing a "My Wish For You" book for her birthday party? Have each person at her party write on a Post-it note their wish for her as she grows up. Take a picture of every person at the party. Scan the Post-it notes and make them into a book! Put the picture of the person who wrote the note next to the Post-it note. I can email you an example of the one I made for my daughter if you want to know what it looks like. It's a great keepsake for when she's older. Be sure to get a picture of her with her cake.....  that's always a winner in the scrapbook because the cake usually has her age written on the cake or inserted with a candle.  Also take a group shot of her with party guests surrounding her.  That way you'll have a record of who came to her 1st birthday party.  Another thing and this is the most important.... don't forget to have someone else hold the camera so there's a picture of you with her for this momentous 1st birthday!!!  Somehow moms always get left out of the shots cause we're usually the ones behind the lens.  Happy Birthday to that beautiful girl and happy scrapping to you!!

Thank you! That sounds like a good idea!! I just know Im not going to be the one to be taking the pictures so I want to tell the picture taker (probably my mom) the pictures that I want her to take. Thank you for the balloon suggestion.

I think pictures of just the birthday girl holding a single balloon just look adorable. I gave my daughter (she turned one a week ago) a balloon to play with while she was in her party dress and I got some of the CUTEST pictures out of it.
