I am just discovering communities of people all over face book. I used to be a Creative Memories consultant and haven't done very much scapbooking in the past four years. I have a four year old boy and a little girl on the way in about 5 weeks. I really need to get busy on my son's scrapbook so I don't get too behind on my little girl's book when she comes. Any suggestions on how to get started? All I have done is my baby shower and his ultrasounds. I also have a baby book that is about 2/3 done. Where to begin and how do I not feel overwhelmed?

Christy, I did in one of my granddaughters book. Her mom wanted in there to remember and let her see in future times. I also placed pictures of my daughter and granddaughter's grave site...if it is part of their lives...put it. It is really up to you what you want in the book for your child. Memories are memories...good or not so good. Some people on want the happy faces or funny photos...I like them all in my books! I am sure you will decide which is best for you.

Another question. My son had some major medical issues in his first year. I have contemplated not putting in the pictures of him when he was so sick because they always make me cry, but I also don't want to forget how far we have come since then. Would you include unhappy times like that in a scrapbook? He will never remember it, but I would like to someday tell him about it so he knows how much we went through to save his life. Suggestions?

My suggestion: you have ultrasound, baby shower...go to birth and from that time on...select your photos and start with the first year...then begin the next with first birthday...do that year...then next do the second birthday and all that year...etc.

It is really up to you how you want to do them...

I would find it easier to do yearly books. Happy scrapping!
