Pics fading :( Help!

So I thought it would be much cheaper n easier to just print my pictures myself from my home computer. They turn out great when they are "fresh" but it has only been 2 years since I have put together my stuff n the pictures are all light n yellowed n faded. If I wouldve known that I wouldnt have trusted my kids' baby pictures with my own equipment. Anything I can do differently? I buy name brand ink n paper n have a brand new computer so I THOUGHT I had the best. Help!

This is why I always back up my pictures on cds or an online album thats secure, because you just never know- here is a tip that they teach the photographers- when printing pictures and it gives you the choice of glossy or matte- ALWAYS choose matte glossy fades after years, It also depends on where you store them- the temperature needs to be cool, not hot, or cold because that makes them fade as well -sorry about your pics and good luck in the future:)

Unless you buy archival quality paper and ink, this is always going to be a problem. That is why I don't print my own anymore. I found a company that prints storybooks with archival quality paper and ink, and honestly, I am saving time and money doing it this way.
