i use a big plastic bin to store all of my stuff! its something ill have to live with til i get my own place!

I lived in a corner of our "great room" for 3 years. I used an IKEA bookshelf, and my husband cut extra shelves for me out of plywood - but IKEA has options to buy extra shelves and doors if you so choose. I used to put some embellishments (flowers from OTC, for example) in empty spice jars and bought spice racks for the wall. Currently, I put all my embellishments in jars, attached magnets to the jars, and they all sit on big magnet boards (also IKEA). So that lets me use a lot of wall space! But those are some ideas.

some people use a closet..maybe you could redo one of your closets into a small, small office area

if you have the space go to workbench.com and browse the website for space saving ideas - I can't find the exact link right now - but we built a smaller version of what they had online in our office and it came out great - shelves on the wall and my husband made a really simple desk out of 2 closet organizers with a painted plywood top, secured it on a I was ready to go. I think if you search under "craft station" it should help you find the article.

I'm not a lot of help. I have my scrapbooking stuff in my closet, my kids closet, and the garage. I have been know to take the garage over to scrapbook! I have 2 big tables out there and I set everything up like I want it. I set up a heater and let the kids play out there while I scrap. : )

Why don't you try to scrapbook at a local scrapbook store? Do you have an Archivers? That is an awesome store to scrapbook at plus you have all the supplies at the tip of your fingers!

I use an old dresser with drawer dividers, rubbermaid bins with pullout drawers, really anything I can think of that will help me organize :) When I was looking on google for intriguing ways to organize, I found some great photos of a woman who took a largish closet, and tucked in a desk and some extra shelving. Then she could just push the chair in, shut the door, and poof! No more mess. I can't find the link again right now, but I'm sure it is there somewhere. :) Good Luck!

I bought some of those metal grids that have connectors that make them into cubes - they have them at Target or Wal-Mart, and made a wall unit in our office.  They work great because they're about 15x15 so albums and everything fit great.  You can also get those "fabric drawers" (they're in the closet organizer aisle) they fit perfectly in there for tools.  You could get some fabric or something to cover it when you're not working if you wanted to be able to hide things.

What about one of those stackable drawers that come with wheels? My friend found one at a yard sale for only $5, and its working great for her. When she's not using it, she wheels it out of the way to another room. The drawers are nice and big, alot of room for alot of stuff!

You know I had the exact same problem... Here is what we came up with - I am pretty much taking over the dining room! :) If it is something that you love and you are preserving your families memories for years to come - go ahead and take over! I just keep adding 12x12 drawer units and I try to keep it tidy! But it is definetly a craft/dining room for now and the unseen future! :)

We had an extra computer desk in our basement. I am using that.  The nice thing is that the keyboard tray slides out. If I have to stop in the middle of a page, I can cover it and slide it under the rest of the desk. That has been working really well for me!

i used to have an armiore that i kept in my bedroom....i only kept enough scrappy stuff to fit in there..that way i did't overbuy!!!
