Hello everyone,

Just thought it might be cool to know what everyone's scrapbooking goals are?

I just recently set a new goal for myself to complete 5 pages a week. So far I have been doing great at keeping it:o) So far this week I have gotten 7 pages done. I find that if I have a minimum requirement for myself it helps me push myself that much harder. Plus I'm way behind! My daughter is 9 months old (almost 10) and I have yet to scrapbook her 3 month photo's!

So what has everyone else set out for themselves, if anything?

Yikes ! a goal..I've been busy with PTA stuff and with the Holidays coming, most of what I'll be doing will be papercrafting, not just scrapbooking. I think my goal will be to complete the cards I'm going for a gift and make our Christmas cards before Halloween.

Being behind doesn't bother me. I have learned to accept that I will never be caught up as I go through spells of scrapping, but then actually living the memories I want to preserve. I have been scrapping about three years and have four full albums, but still have 1700+ printed photos and six unprinted full memory cards. I don't want to spoil the enjoyment I get out of scrapping by stressing over what I have left to do.

I joined a local meetup.com scrapbooking group that meets once a week so I usually get something done then, even if the rest of my week is crazy. And the kids love an excuse to play together which gives us mom time to scrap.

I can't do a page goal as I think that puts to much pressure on me personally to just get the pages out and done rather than get the story told.

I go to a Crop night once a month and I like to get as many pages done as possible. I have a 2-year old son and an 11 month old daughter. I haven't even started my son's album yet. I am very close though. BTW-he turned 2 in May.

I was really lucky to get to begin maternity leave while my husband was still on deployment and being home and super pregnant left me nothing but time to catch up on scrapbooking.... but now I have my little man and I am constantly taking pictures now I am starting to fall a little behind again. I never really thought about setting myself a scrapbook goal.... I am gonna have to give it a try. Glad to hear that I wasnt the only one who was so far behind though.

I love scrapbooking retreats - I've been fortunate to go on two this year and then had a two day one here at my place as well - the end result was a completed family album for 2007 and a completed digital album. So retreats are definitely worth their weight in gold for good dedicated and uninterrupted scrapbooking time!

I have 6 granddaughters, recently i purshased larger thicker notebooks to put my pages in. I have a winter goal to journal in them. I love doing all aspects of scrapbooking.

Wow Nancy - based on your photo there is no way you could have 6 grandchildren!!!  You look so young!  Hmmm, maybe having grandchildren (someday) will make me look young and happy too :o)

Sounds like you have a good goal.  It is the story that goes with the photos that is so important!

Lori,

Thank you for your comment. You simply must make time and go on a retreat. It's so nice to get away and focus on scrapbooking. However, I did get a little homesick, but that was to be expected with being gone for four days.

I never even thought about setting a goal. That's a great idea. I have a 3 month old daughter and this last weekend I just spent 4 days in Canton, TX at a scrapbooking retreat. I got her hospital photo's and baby dedication done. I also like to keep cards for sentimental reasons, so I also scrapbooked all of the cards that we received from our 3 different baby showers. I'm going to have to get another album soon.

DeeAnna,

I thought I was over-doing it when I used an entire album for my baby from pregnancy to Christmas.  He was born in November and most of his pages were from birth on!!  He is almost 4 now and absolutely loves looking at all of his scrapbooks!!  He is constantly 'reading' them.  That motivates me to keep going!!

Good for you to go on a retreat!!  I have yet to do that :(

My goal is to scrapbook my daughter for a while and not just customers photos! I only have 6 pages done of my daughter and she is 3 next week! So sad!

I try to finish my son's baseball season by Christmas every year. He plays travel baseball and the season starts in late March and lasts until the second or third week in July. I do little scrapbooking during these months ):

For my little one, I catch him up by April each year before baseball starts.

Now I need new goals because my baseball player is in high school and his season won't be so demanding. I like your 5 pages per week, but I try to scrap in 2-page layouts, so I need to do 4 or 6. I think I will start with 4 and see how it goes.

Thanks for the motivation!!!

I use to do only two page layouts, but have recently switched to mostly one pager's!  I have to many pages in my daughter's book as it is, so if I always did two page layouts it would be way to big (which it already is!)

Good luck with the 4 pages a week!  It was hard at first but now I find myself pushing to beat the goal I set out for myself:o)

I also still have two scrapbooks to complete for my mother and mother in law of my daughter for Christmas!  I'm going to a Croptoberfest next weekend and it's 9-9 so I should be able to get them done!!
