Scrapbooking more than 1 child?

That's a question everyone asks me about how I do my albums...it's hard when you have more than one child...I have a scrapbook for each of my children up to one year. Then I do family albums for the entire year. So all of our pictures go in there....I don't have time to do separate albums for each of them...I wish I did, but I just can't do it.

Thank you so much everyone for all your wonderful comments. I have decided to do a baby book for each child of pregnancy-through their first year. Then one a year as I take way too many photos LoL up until age 5 where I will start their school albums & everything else will be recorded in our annual family album (which I am taking on the project life idea for these)
I have also decided that when I have a photo of both of the kids if the story is significant enough for both of them they will both get one otherwise it will go in the album of the child who the story is mainly about.
The reason I asked about scrapbooking both of them in each book was I know a friend who's mother recently passed & the hardest thing they had to do was go through the albums & choose which photo they wanted (especially when they both wanted it)
One thing I have already promised myself is to journal their stories - whilst a picture can tell 1000 words theres nothing quite like my point of view & when others look they will also know the story.

Well I've decided to do a preg/1st year (up to and including their first birthday) for each of my kids, then a toddler album up till when they start school. After that I'm thinking Elementary (preK to 5th grade), Middle school (6-8th grade), then 1 album for 9-11 grade then a separate one for their senior year. Photos of both will probaby end up in their albums, but that's just part of it. Any family events will be in a family album (like family vaca's) unless we ever go to Disney World, then that would have it's own album lol. You could break it up like I'm going to (or however you separate grades in Australia). As far as sports, that would be in the appropriate aged Album...if they are REALLY into something-like if DS really likes Boy Scouts or DD really likes say softball, then I wouold probably make them a special album for that. After they graduate, then if they want an album they would need to supply the pix or make their own lol...expect big events like graduating college/marriage/birth of babies stuff like that, I'm not sure how I would separate that yet, but I still have plenty of time to figure out hehe.

I scrapbook for each of my kids and when I have a picture of both, I put it into photo albums. I have pics of both of them together in each but depends on of what. Like my son has pictures of him n his sis at HIS bday party in HIS book and the pics of them both on field trips for HER preschool class, are in HER book.

I have 3 kids, ages (almost) 14, 9 & 3. They each have their own scrapbooks. When I have a picture of them all, or just the two girls, I eithermake doubles and put one in each of their books, or I put it in one of theirs, then find other pics with all of them and try to even it out. For example, I have quite a bit of picture with my two daughters in them (the 9 & 3 year old). I may put two or three in my 9 year olds, and a different two or three in my 3 year olds album. Just realized I had lots of typos in that response!! LOL!! I forgot to mention though that i do not scrapbook for my kids, I have always been a scrap booker and i actually scrap book for my self. They will one day acquire the albums, and there are some smaller albums they may get to take when they move on, but for the most part it is my love of photos that makes me scrap so i don't really worry about what they will say if they ever notice one has more pages then the other! Sounds Selfish, but It's just how I look at it.

I have 3 kids, They each get a baby book, and up to when school starts there is a book of each of them. When they start school they each get a school album, anything p ertaining to school gores in there. Other pages that pertain to them, even if their siblings are in them still go into that albums of them personally,Bust as far as layouts that feature more then one of them, I put those all in the family albums. I figure we do enough of the same things that when I pass on or am not able to have the books any more, they can sort through them and split them up. There are enough fishing and zoo layouts that there shouldn't be a problem!! LOL! Now with Sports, my kids are not currently athletes, so if they had any kind of sports pages, they would go into the regular school books. If they even do become athletes, then I am going to say I would probably have an album of such, but i can't say at this point if they would be 12x12 or 8x8..... good luck with your decision.

I am doing an album for each of my 5 kids & then one of each of the 4 grandkids. If more than one kid is in the pix, I make duplicates. The same goes for the page I am scrapbooking (I decorate the page the same for each kid/album).

I don't know about two children, but when i do have the second I plan on having a separate book for both of them. School, activities, normal life , holidays, ect... its just easier so you have it all in one. I plan on giving it to my baby girl when she gets married one day.

Wow, what a dilema (sp). I only have two children but I was thinking the same thing and have the same probelm. I am personally trying to work on a book for my son and daughter separtely that is time that me and them may have spendt together and also with the other sibling but how I will make it unique to them is to write to them specifically as to how I ejoyed them at this event, or something they may have said at this event, etc.

What I really love doing and it has seemed to work for me is that I do event type books that involve the both of them.
