How do you find time to work, keep up the house and raise 2 teens with sports every night and still find time to keep the scrapbooks up to date?? Help, my daughter graduates in 2011 and I want to have so much finished.

Amen Kim! I am sooooooooo with you! Wooohooo! and have you even tried where you can print 12x18 (you can put 2 of 6x6 on bottom of the 12x12) and there for you can extra prints then for either the kids or the grandparents or whomever! --- Just an extra tidbit that I had learned and thought I'd share! :)

My costco prints 12x12 pages. They look great. I find that since I have switched the majority of my scrapbooking to digital I have an easier time staying caught up. I sneak a page or to in while I can and if my children (ages 5, 3, and 3 months) need to interupt I just close the computer and open it again when I can. I love that there is no set up or cleanup. I still do traditional scrapping at at least two weekend retreats a year and my books are a mix of digital and paper scrapping. Because I use the same style, colors etc for both the two types blend really well in the album. So happy I have the digital to help me out.

Wow, some great ideas! I love the traveling with Scrapbooking supplies tip. :)

I do both digital and traditional stuff, and I use the CM software for my digital. My latest idea is for this year, is to create a storybook (scrapbook) for the year 2010, save it in the software, and add pages as I get them done over the whole year. I had done some individual pages for events the kids went to, I added those to my "yearbook". I'll add more each month as the year goes on, and at the end of the year, I'll have a complete book of this year.

Michelle, just take the pics now... download to a flash drive or some safe place (even an online place) with the info then comeback to it (if you plan to do it digitally) or.... get them printed out, mark on the back of all them so you know what/who/when. My advice would be to at least take the pics now and have them labeled

My daughter is 18 months old and I run a home daycare... I have no time to think by the end of the day!! After all the kids go home and I cook dinner then clean up it's bedtime! I do plan to work a little harder to fit in some scrapbooking time though:o)

they print 12x18 ..... what is cool is..... make the 12x12 for you and you can make 2 of 6x6 size so there is no waste :)

I do alot of digital scrabooking anymore as it seems more practical for 'me' --- this way I don't have to worry about hauling everything out and then the clean up afterward. I then send finished pages to Costco to be printed. --- Another great feature about digital is that I can do it at any time any where with my laptap as I have the photos on a flashdrive and just insert into the computer and start away :)..... Hope this helps and Good luck --- I got a 2012 grad and I know I've been procrastinating myself and most likely will be the last minute as usual (though I take a million pics!)

I'm in the same position! My last completed scrapbook was in 2004. Recently a friend invited me to her cottage for a scrapbook weekend. She did one for her graduating son with a CM kit. She had compiled all her photos ahead of time and just used what was in the kit to complete her whole album.

Yeah, the only time I have to scrap is when I MAKE time to scrap. Usually by hosting a crop (out of the house - at home my hubby doesn't seem to fully grasp that he and the kids need to leave us alone! :-)
I also just attended a Creative Memories meeting that shared a good idea. One of the consultants talked about raising 4 boys and how she gets her scrapping done on trips. She packs it up and takes it in the car. Works by layers - do the paper and photos in the car, and then later she can go back and add journaling (so important!) and stickers etc. I think I'll be stealing that idea on my next road trip! :-)

as for me, i only have one child but i am working full time and at the same time doing graduate studies. so i do my scrapbooking when everyone else is asleep, after i have worked on everything else. i also bring it to work and work on it during breaks. - one picture at a time in the office. then i put it in the scrapbook at night. you just need to schedule it.

Have you thought about taking some of your scrapbooking stuff with you while watching your child at his/her sporting practice? You could at least put everything together in an organized fashion by page. Or you could crop the pictures how you want them.

Send the rest of the family out to the movies while you stay & scrap. Get together with a friend. Let the kids play together & moms scrap. You have to schedule it like everything else. Make the family respect your time as well. Not an easy one I know.

Denise, I feel your pain! I have boxes full of pictures and a closet full of supplies waiting interminably....as well as 3 unfinished albums and one that's completely empty :( I think this summer is a great opportunity to make a date-with myself and a glass of wine- once a week to scrap. Scrapping with friends is fun, but seems more time consumng, especially if you need to sort, pack and carry stuff somewhere else :) Hmmm, but maybe an "scrap-ability partner" of sorts could help you set and meet simple goals.

Hello,
I go through the same thing even though I have only one child who is seven. I simply have been making time. Lately, I have been making cards as I watch tv. I've also been taking my things to work and work on something on my 30 minute lunch break. Just simply do it!!!

Weekend scrapbook getaways would help. No distractions from home...
