I have been married 5 years and just started my wedding album about a month ago. We did not get an album from our photographer. I started by going through all my pictures and picking out the ones I wanted in the book. I made sure I picked the significant moments, ceremony, first dance, dance with mom/dad, cake...you know. Then I decided I wanted a more elegant look to the book instead of a traditional scrapbook . I am only putting 2 pictures per page, and am only using the colors of the wedding. Reds, shades of black and white. I got alot of wedding stickers and velum sayings at the craft store which I am using. In the back of the book I will do more of the traditional stuff. I don't want alot of journaling throughout the book so the last page I will write out our story. I hope it works out. Good luck with yours. I am sure anything you do will be great. It is your day and your story so tell it the way you want to.

You could start out with a page of you when you were little and your memories growing up and the details of that, and then one for your husband the same way. Then you could start with photos and details of when you started dating. And then go into the wedding photos and details. I haven't even started mine yet (been married for 7 years on February 23). I haven't been scrapping that long so I wanted to wait until I have got the hang of it. I think I am about ready to start mine. So good luck.

I always start with putting the picutres in order. From the shower to the getting ready, the actual wedding then the reception, then the leaving to start your new lives together. It makes a Beautiful albulm. I have done 6-7 albulms and I wouldn't do it any other way!
hi there, i have just recently gotten married and was given a beautiful album as a gift. But i am stuck on ideas as to where to start.
Any ideas anybody?

Katrina, Wedding albums are hard, cuz you want to put in everything. I had a difficult starting mine too..... (it's still not finished, 2 years in progress) I has a professional photographer, but didn't buy their album cuz I wanted to make my own. However I used their outline as to what pictures the put where in the album. Front page is a pic of our hands with the story of how we meet, when/how we got engaged. Then I used all my wedding prep pictures... choosing the dress, tuxs, location, flowers, etc. Then I did the wedding day preps, hair, make up, dressing, etc. I then did ceremony pics followed by wedding party/family pics. thats as far as I've gotten, but next I'll be doing out reception and honeymoon. Hope this is helpful. Good Luck

I suggest that you start with your engagement photo (if you have one, if not just a photo of the 2 of before the wedding) and then write "your story" How did you meet, where was your first date, first kiss, special times, when did he propose, etc" then start with your wedding pictures. This way when your child(ren) get the album they know how your story "began" and if you still have pages left after you put all the wedding photos in then every anniversary take a photo of the 2 of you and write something about the last year.. I am on my 2 second marriage so we didn't have the "big" wedding with lots of photos. This is how my album is done so that when we celebrate our 60th anniversary (10 down.. 50 to go! lol) we can look back and remember how we got there! Good luck! ~Crystal
Hi Katrina like everyone else - lets the colours and style of wedding set the scene for your album - your profile looks like an oudoor wedding - I have completed an album of my son's wedding - the ceremony was on the beach and the reception was a very large picnic - I have some pages uploaded that you can see if you would like for ideas - I will add you to my circle

I have been scrapbooking for the past five years. I do a book for every 5 years of each childs life then one every year for my husband and myself. I am also the designated wedding invitation maker, shower card maker, and wedding albulm maker in my family. Plus, on top of all this I work at Vanderbilt University 4 days a week. Sometimes it is hard to fit it in but I just have too, because it's the only thing that keeps me sane!
I recently finished my wedding album and we were married in the fall and used fall colors in our flowers and the mens ties...those were the colors I used. That would be where I would start, look to your wedding colors. Another suggestion is to pick out your absolute favorite wedding pictures and get them printed off in Black and White and then use your wedding colors..the pictures really pop that way. Really simple embellishments are paper flowers (Scrapbook Sally or Prima) and brads...adds a nice touch!!

I just finished a page from my wedding 34 years ago.I started with my Dad and me. Then our hands(wedding rings) a photo of us kneeling at the alter, one of us just married and one leaving down the aisle.I found dimensional bridal stickers and cream dim.flowers.I layered cream colored papers and it turned out beautiful. Mainly, let your photo's tell you what to do. It's easy to get overwhelmed.
