what is your scrapbook style?

Hey ladies, I'm just wondering what your style is!

I like my layouts fairly simple, normally a few pictures on each page. I like to frame my pictures, use glitter embellishments and LOVE LOVE LOVE rhinestones. I don't like to use ribbons very often (I just can't seem to get them to look right lol) and I hardly ever journal (for shame, I know). I also have to finish one scrapbook before I can start another, which hinders the process sometimes lol.

Dorothy, sorry for the loss.I found several first page poems that I use for my books. If u r interested, give me ur email & I will send. I am doing albums for ea of my kids & grandkids. The pages r decorated the same (if 3 of the kids r in the pix, all 3 have the same page, ect w/ grandkids. Only thing changed is in the journaling/names).

I have no idea on where to start in making a scrap/memory book for my grandaughters who were 11/2 and 3 when there mom died. Do I do one each or the same? What type of theme etc. I would really like to do this but just feel as though I am stuck before I get started. What do you put on the first page? I just feel lost

I like the OLDer CM idea books. I don't like to put a lot of emblishment on my pages. I started out CTMH, then introduced to CM. My pages that I do rn't done in date order (when I put them in the albums there r in date order). I like the idea that not all the pages r CTM or CM. Journaling is a hang up of mine BUT I have found a solution. My kids r older, so I scrp book the pages & then give them stick pads & have them write who, what, where, etc & then I go back & journal. My NEW goal is to do @ least 5 pages a week since I don't have to put up my things (have spare bedrm set up w/ my scrap booking). Getting ready to paint & new carpet, so NOT looking forward to where am I gonna put all the stuff?!?! Happy scrap booking!!

Simple scrapbooks, telling the story of my family's life. I am pretty strictly creative memories, and I love the digital stuff they are doing right now. Digital makes great gift albums, fast and easy

so far, I prefer K&CO and DCWV scrapbook albums best. I enjoy using a variety of sheets & double-sided acid-free tape. But for glitter pages, I discovered a double-tip glue pen that may be used as removable or permanent & that really works very well. I add stickers, rhinestones, ribbons, etc. but don't go in for over-kill, just enough to enhance pages.

As the saying goes, every picture tells a story. I carefully write the date, place & some small details on the back of each photo, not more than a couple of lines. This cuts way down on journaling. I have a huge decorated box that I bought on sale at a craft shop & that holds all of my scrapbook embellishments neatly & free from harm. And each scrapbook is numbered inside the cover on the spine & I also have a nice label inside the front cover with the beginning & ending dates.

I enjoy a little bit of everything!! I am a Creative Memories Consultant so I enjoy it all!!! I set the mood of my albums and pages depending on what the theme of the album is. I am really getting into the Faithbooking concept of album making also!! I think journaling is vitally important because it truly tells the story of the memory which makes it all the better. Sometimes I think less is better, but I will say since I have the 3 children I definitely enjoy the paper that is already predecorated and all I have to do in some instances is just add some photos and jurnaling boxes or photo mounts and call it "done." But there are times when I will go all out and start from a blank page and build from there!!! Digital scrapbooking is also taking off as well because us moms can scrapbook on our laptops while we are at sports, dance, insturment practices!!!!

Journaling is so much more than just a few words on a page. It's meant to tell a story of a moment, seen through your eyes. Let's face it, we get older and our memories fade. A picture is worth 1000 words but it only tells half the story. Have you ever tried looking at someone else's photos without them present? That's what it will be like when future generations look at your scrapbooks without any journaling, without any story. You must give them a glimpse at the world through your eyes. It doesn't have to be a long drawn out love letter but bits and pieces, maybe of why you took that photo, what you were feeling in that moment etc. Check out my blog thememorykeepercoach.blogspot.com. It's dedicated to preserving memories. I talk about creative ways to journal (without necessarily journaling), layout ideas etc. You can also find me on twitter at www.twitter.com/MsMemoryKeeper

I am mostly digital, but I prefer clean and simple. I use Heritage Makers studio 3.0 1. because it's AWESOME and 2. because I am a consultant! I also dabble a bit with photoshop elements when I want to do some more detailed editing of my photos. I usually have several projects going on at the same time. Makes it difficult to say how many are actually done, because several are close but not quite there yet.

I'm HORRIBLE about journaling too! I can never seem to do it. I think what you and your family together can remember about the even it more important than what few words you can put on a page. You get a lot more laughs too. =) I have a new drug-it's called close to my heart. It incorporates stamping with scrapbooking. Other than that I like to play with papers and designs.

Carrie, I tear out pages from my many scrapbook magazines and file them for future use. I will also copy a sketch from the internet or from a friend's book if I like it. I have a 3 ring binder that I use to organize them. When I need inspiration I just pull out my binder!

Renee I am sooo jealous!! My memory is terrible - splotchy at best. I have to write things down soon after they happen and hope I don't lose the paper I wrote it down on!! My style varies - I am an awesome scraplifter!! I get bored easy so I keep trying new things. In order to make it easy on the eyes, I almost always do a 2 page layout.

I like my pages pretty simple myself. I usually have three 3x5 pics per page, one large embelishment, some framing around my pics, and a few small embelishments. I LOVE ribbon and use lots of it!!!! I also have the cricut expressions machine with 8 or 9 cartridges, so I always have a title and that's usually where all of my embelishments come from if it's not ribbon related! lol

I've got a Cricut E, too.  I LOVE my bug!!! :)  Best scrapbooking tool ever.

I love everything too. I go in phases. If I learn a new technique or get a new toy, you can always notice it in my albums.

For me it really depends on what I'm scrapping..... Some pages are very simple - matting photos, few simple embellishments, and quick. I go from that to sometimes stamping, brads, and lots of embellishments. Then there is the digital. So, I would have to say, I'm all over the place. lol - But that is how I am in life too:)

I do the same thing, Carrie. Any time I see a cute saying or poem or embellishment idea, I cut it out and glue it into my composition book. I've got it all tabbed with Christmas, Baby, School, Halloween, etc. Super organized!!!

I try to use a little bit of everything! One thing that I found really helps is that I started an idea book. What I do is take pages of ideas out of scrapbooking magazines or anywhere else I find an idea and than I have a three ring binder that has tabs for every category like Winter, School, Halloween etc.. and I place those ideas behind each tab. So whenever I feel like I run out of ideas I just turn to my idea book! Works out great. I am a very organized person so I place all my photos in a photobox with a little paper strip sticking out between each event/date. I order all my photos by date and have them also divided between my son and duaghter. I have the box right on my scrapbooking desk and when I'm ready to scrapbook I take from the front first and this way I'm always scrapbooking in order and can finish an album before starting a new year. Hope this helps anyone who needs ideas. Have fun scrappin'!

Don't know if i really have a specific style. I did an acrylic scrapbook for Christmas. That was a challenge, but very very cool. You have to consider how everything will look from several pages in front and back, and on both sides. I think that was the best one I ever did. Took a lot of time, for me anyway! LOL!

Don't feel bad, Jocelyn. That's only one of maybe 6 pages I've done for him since he was born....he's turning FIVE next week! LOL It's just too hard to get pages done while they are little....I am WAY behind.

That makes sense to me! I try to do that, too. But sometimes so many exciting things are going on and when you try to scrapbook for different books it can become sloppy. So now, I make a scrapbook for every year. the very 1st page will be that year in huge lettering. Then I make a 2 page layout for every month of the year, with photos highlighting whatever took place that month! If I have leftover photos that I want to perserve, I will scrap them later in a different album. This way I KNOW I will finish at least 1 album if not more in the course of the year. This is the scrapbook that will sit in my dining room for all my guests to see and a terrific conversation starter!

I love everything!!

This is my first ever traditional album, I got started by designing the layout online with the photo book making tool on shutterfly. Then I loaded the pages with the pictures in the proper order. I did about 50 pages this way. I then went back with all my papers and went through the album page by page and decided on a paper for each sleeve that matched or complimented the pictures.

Now I'm going back through and figuring out how to embellish each page.

This is a disney album, so its very themed.

A little bit of everything. I LOVE glitter (Stickles), rhinestones, Prima flowers, brads, and eyelets. I used ribbon for this baby layout I did and it came out adorable (I'll try to post a pic later). I don't know if I really have a style though. Every page is different depending on what theme I'm going for...

Oh! and I should be journaling more, too. But I have a hard time writing in a straight line, so I end up typing it up on my computer and printing on cardstock :) I have made tons of scrap pages, but none are in albums....I just do what I feel like doing at the time and still have to organize my pages into albums.....too time consuming!!! lol

I am strictly a Creative Memories lady (I am a consultant). I have been doing the "Power Layout" method to layout an entire album at one time with all the decorative flair I like. I have a simple classic style with a bit of flair with paper ribbon, flowers and frames. My new passion is digital with our software. I love making sports books, posters and pages with a few simple clicks of the mouse! Happy scrappin'!
