When do you find the time?

You don't find the time, you just take the time. I use it for relaxation. If I waited until I had time, I would never scrap or sew. I love both.

I do it as "ME TIME!" I have 3 girls, the oldest is 8 1/2 Months older than that twins! One of the twins has some special needs so I have "extra" running around getting her to all of her appointments. To me it is very mind clearing. And I just MAKE the time as MY TIME! I do things other than scrapbooking as well, so sometimes I just need an hour to get a card made or a teacher's gift together. And if you start with those smaller projects, you will be able to work into being able to get more scrapbooking done.I would LOVE to say I had a set time to do it, but I don't. I do however have to say...I need some ME TIME today. That will help! Remember..If Mama ain't Happy no one is Happy!

I attended an all day crop last weekend, and was able to finish 14 pages. I usually feel guilty leaving my family on the weekends, but sometimes moms need to relax and have some fun. Our family will appreciate us better. I also have a church monthly crop, and keep every thing out in my dining room/office space. I may only get an hour a week, but still keeps me busy. I also sell Creative Memories and they are always helping me stay motivated. Good luck.

It's the same as anything, you need to make time for what you want to do. Set aside say Friday nights, after the baby has gone to bed, and scrap for say 4 hours. Better than nothing; or on one Saturday a month, set up a time when you and your friends can get together (possibly at a srapbook store that has cropping time) at one's house and scrapbook for the afternoon while hubby is watching the baby. You have to make the time, just like anything else.

I belong to a scrapbooking group that meets monthly (and I make it most of the time) and I do try to squeeze it in whenever possible on other weekends. The key is to be very, very organized (I break page making up into manageable pieces as far as organizing whenever I have free time (ie. during my daughter's dance class or basketball practice; at the dr's office, etc) and always have a "to go" kit packed (basic tool kit & a small project that is easily transported).

By being organized, I mean take the time to get page kits prepared (paper, embellishments, photos if you can) and store in 2-gallon bags, 12x12 folders, whatever works for you. It will take time up front, but if you do this, you will have kits ready to go at a moments notice when you have some "free" time for scrapbooking.

The other thing I do is to keep an ongoing list of the photos I wish to scrapbook (I don't scrapbook every photo I take) and make notes on it at the time I take the photos so that in case I wait a year or two to scrapbook it, I know what was on my mind at the time.

I have 4 kids 4,2, and 1 year old twins. Scrapbooking use to be so much fun for me and when I just had my 1st daughter I would work on mine at night while she played in her walker.. now however I havent even got a min of spare time to scrapbook and I miss it.

I go through phases too, but I've found what reallys helps is having a dedicated space where you can essentially leave your stuff out. If I have 15 mins free I'll go in and pick out the pics I'm gonna use for a layout. The next time I'll pick out the paper and the next time the embellisments, etc. I also go to a couple of weekend long retreats. I try to be as organized as possible when I go to these so I can get the most out of my time. I can generally get 30-40 pages done in a weekend.

When at a loss for time, sometimes I do the page digitally, print it out and then embellish it to give it some depth...and sometimes I just wind up leaving it in its purely digital form. It's sometimes quicker because you don't have to pull out stuff or put it away!

I tend to go through phases where I really get motivated and then I take a break. It would be nice to be on a regular schedule, but that never seems to happen for me.

My sons almost 4mo so he still sleeps quite a bit and cant get into stuff so I have a lil extra time bout once or twice a week after housework and all. With a toddler though I think youre doing great to get a couple pages done a week.. Most moms ive known completely give up on it way before their kiddos started walking...
