Hi Venna, I am not from Australia either but it sounds like you and I are in the same boat. My son will be two this month and he seems to have a lot of Sensory processing issues as well. We have just started the whole process of getting help. Like your son, mine hasn't been diagnosed yet either but everyone that we've talked to or has evaluated him has said we seem to be dealing with Sensory Processing Disorder. Although nobody will say for sure because nobody we've seen is qualified to make that diagnoses. Right now we have someone coming to our home once a week to offer suggestions on how to help my son and to point me in the right direction on getting him set up with an OT, speech therapist, and other programs that may be helpful to us. It's all been a bit overwhelming as of late. I had no idea what sensory processing disorder was and still don't for that matter. I've just been reading as much as I can about it and have been trying to find other moms going through the same thing to see if they might have suggestions on some issues and concerns I'm currently having with my son. Two of the biggest concerns are eating, ( He will only eat toast, grilled cheese, pancakes, and Gerber mac and cheese. and the mac and cheese has to be Gerber the 1st year not even step 2 mac and cheese for toddlers) I'm at a loss as to how to get him to try new things. I've tried everything I can think of. The other issue I'm having is total meltdowns when we go inside any place that isn't home. If this sounds familiar to you or anyone else out there I'd love to here from you.

Hi, i live in the Top end of Australia in Darwin and i my 4 year old son who has been diagnosed with SPD recently and i am just wanting any information from other Auzzie mums on anything from tips they may have or anything that has worked for them, especially when it came to explaining their child's difference to their school teacher.
