my son will be three on the 29th of September as well, i am planning to have his party at home since he doesn't have any friends it will just be family, he has a newphew and cousin his age but what i plan to do is have a few activities for them to do that they can take home with them and he can hang on the wall in his room( when it drys) to remind him of his 3rd birthday party. I have a book called " the everything toddler activity book" you can use this book or choose another one or just use your imagination, make finger painting and poster board or playdough or whatever your comfortable with, i am using a few good 3rd birthday party ideas from there and we are having icecream and cake.....keeping it simple and inexpensive.

I had so much fun planning my daughter's 3rd birthday party (she will be 5 next week and i'm working on my sons 3rd for next month). We went to a local park that also had ecology park with farm animals (free admission). We set up a the picnic tables by the playground and started the party with a craft (foam visors and the kids applied animal stickers). Then we went on a tour of the animals and back to the tables for lunch (after handwashing). The kids then had cup cakes and played on the playground before heading home. The location was free aside from making a small donation to the animal park. They even gave me a gallon size bag of feed for the kids to give the goats.

There is a lot you can do at their age without spending alot of money and September is a good month for an outdoor party. Good Luck finding 3rd birthday party ideas!

If you have a few toddler kids that she knows and plays with...one idea I like is "build a bear" party if they offer it in your area. I think the minimum here was $72 for 6 kids and they each get to pick out their own ($12 value) bear, stuff it, dress it get a goodie bag etc.. My daughter turns 3 on Sept 6th so I'm still trying to think of 3rd birthday ideas. Last year we took her to a ocean discovery centre, year before that was butterfly world.

H! My son will be 3 Sept. 25th. I just took him to Party City to let him look at all the cool kid birthday themes and I let him pick his decorations (Toy Story or Mickey Mouse he narrowed it down to). Then we usually keep it simple until like the 5th b-day when they can understand better. But we usually have family and friends and make up some easy games for the little ones... like bean bag toss. We usually do some kind of favors to coordinate with the theme. But, most importantly, we let it be all about the kids and let them have a blast! Have fun and happy planning! :-)

for my sons 3rd birthday im planning on doing an backyardigans themed party. also having a party at builda bear and then at the local zoo, followed by a football party which he loves football too because of his dad. im just lucky that his birthday falls on the long weekend and can do a multiday party(which is especially nice with having to work things around nap times). But just remember anything to do with kids friends and family is what makes the party fun for them.and good luck!!

Hi Dinah, your daughter shares a birthday with my son and I bet you they have a mind of their own and can be pretty stubborn at times- I suppose that is why we love them that much.
Firstly - find out what your daughter likes- if she is into Hannah Montana, Barbie or even cars. Then play around with the idea of having a themed party which is usually nice and fun and can be a bit expensive. Plan something according to your budget. Are you living in Cape Town? because I have my own kiddies party business and if you like I can run some ideas past you.
Let me know and we can chat
