my daughter is 2 years old and I want to get her potty trained but she wont sit on her potty, and when she does sit on her potty she screams like someone is hurting her. I dont know what to do to make it easier for her to learn to use the potty. What should I do?

To be honest, mine isn't potty trained but my girlfriends son is only 2 and he is totally potty trained. And she did it in little to no time. All she did was let him go with no diaper, pants ect. and he new their was nothing their so would motion to use the potty. Good luck this summer i will start trying the potty training.. And ain't looking forward to it

At first my son was scared to sit on the potty, he's still not a big fan of it (he's not potty trained yet) but I gave him a little step stool next to the potty so he could put his feet on it while sitting and that made him feel more at ease, like he wasn't going to fall off. Good luck!

Hi Stacii, my son was exactly the same, we tried training him at as soon as he turned 2 in September last year (becuase I was due for my 2nd child and wanted him trained) and he would just sit on the toilet and scream, wouldn't even sit on the potty. We left him alone for about 2 months and it was just the trick, we started trying again just before christmas and it took him about 1 week and he was doing wee's on the toilet all the time. The poo's took a bit of time (was scared to let them plop i think) but he has now started doing it and is now fully trained. We also bought him a little toy when he did his 1st wee (a little fire truck, he is obsessed with fire trucks) and as a bonus for doing a poo we are taking him to a fire museum tomorrow.

My advise is to let her go for a month or two and then try again, it worked for us and maybe just the trick for you.

Goodluck with it :)
