you dont have to cut out the milk and juice completely. my son has either milk or juice with breakfast and most of the time i dilute it with water

My 17 month old dosent sleep either. Since Christmas, he has slept through the night 6 times. Before Christmas, he slept through the night  every night, and had been since he was 3 months old.

My son is getting his molar teeth. He wakes crying, biting his blanket. They still need milk, dont cut it out completly, they need milk for brain development.

I get up with my son, and give him a bottle of milk. He has to go to sleep in my arms. I dont mind because I am a stay at home Momma and do not have to go to work the next day. When he naps during the day, I do too if I need more sleep. I know this is not an option for everyone.

I just ordered a book called " The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night, by author and parent educator Elizabeth Pantley". I have not read it yet, but it gets positive comments on Amazon.com. I cannot let him Cry it out, I cannot bear to hear him cry. So it is either read this book and apply some of her techniques or keep doing what I am doing.

Sorry, I wish I could be more of a help to you.

If you want your child to sleep through the night you are going to have to cut out the milk and water all together. Yes it will be rough for the first week but it's soooooo worth it. I stopped nursing at 15 months and for the first week or so it was a nightmare but no I am happy to say it's almost been two months and my son sleeps through the night and it's the best rest I have ever gotten.

when we switched over to milk (which seems like forever ago!) i mixed half milk and half water. maybe eventually over time you can add more water and less milk. we do this with juices and other drinks too. i found out that my little one just likes the drink to have color! haha sometimes when i cant get him to drink water, i add just a little bit of grapejuice or whatever to add color!
