My daughter was 21 pounds 30 inches at her 15 month check up. The doc says she is skinny but completely healthy!

Dierdre was 17.3 lbs and 29 1/2 inches at her last doctor's appointment about a month ago. She's always been around the 1st percentile (on the line), so as long as she's consistent, the doc's happy. I always said that she's the kind of kid you could take to an all-you-can-eat buffet and get more than your money's worth. I don't know where she puts it.

My son is on the lean side so he weighed in at 22lbs and 31inches at his 15 month check up. But he's got a potbelly! LOL!

Hi Sharon,

My almost 16month old is still under 20lbs... and is 31.5 inches. Funnily enough she doesn't look skinny or frail and is extremely active and strong - walks, runs and talks. I understand that it is interesting to compare but really all that matters is that they are healthy and happy as they sure to come in ALL shapes and sizes!

my daughter is 16 months and only weighs 20 pounds. she has been 20 pounds for the past 6 months. I was concerned she has not been gaining weight. The doc says depends on how active they are. She is burning the calories that she is intaking and as long as she maintains her weight there is nothing to worry about.
I would not worry to much about her weight.

My son was 16 lbs 12 oz at his 15 month check up and 27.5 inches long. I have 5 boys ranging from 18 years old on down to my 16 month old. Not a one of them have an ounce of fat on them. Even my 11 year old is not on the doctors height and weight chart. They are all very very healthy. Each child is different.

My little girl just had her 15 month check up. She is 27lbs 12oz and 33inches! She is considered 97%+ but the doctor isn't worried. She is proportional and healthy in every other way and that's what counts!

The Dr also said that height at this age is not necessarily indicative of height later in life. He said wait till at least 3 years and then see what happens.

My daughter is 15 months old and 24llbs but only 27 inches tall....My son who is 2.5 now was about 25lbs and almost 35 inches talll when he was 15 months old. I think it the gentics of you and the babies father's side. I know my family on my side are tall and skinny and My husband's side they are pretty short the tallest being my husband at 5' 7" and the are reallatively chubby. Hope this helps

Wow, I've got a teeny tiny girl! At her 15mo check-up (which happened at 15 mos 2 weeks of age) she was only 18lbs 13oz (3rd%ile) and 29" (10th%ile) . She's been small all along though - but now we're on the "fatten her up" diet so she stays on the charts! She's not skinny-looking though, and her dad isn't too big either. Plus she's had molars coming in, so eating hasn't been as fun for her, poor kiddo. Fingers crossed for our 18month visit!

At my daughters 15 month checkup she weighed 29 1/2 pounds and was 32 inches tall. she was in the 90th percetile. But they said they were not conncered about her weight as she was in proportion to her height. Her daddy is 6' 4'' tall so they said she is going to be a tall girl...probably around 5' 10'' to 5' 11''. Sometimes i think i gave birth to a female football player...lol

My son is 15 months old and is no more then, 20lbs and only 28in long.
He was born 4 weeks early and his daddy is 120lbs soaking wet so really, I don't care to much about him being so small. To me, as long as he is doing what he is supose to be doing, (ie- walking, playing, trying to talk, eating well) that is fine with me. Sometimes I think the Dr.'s needs to take those charts and toss them in a garbage can! EVERY child is different as we all can see, I think it is cool to see how one child is so different from another AT THE SAME AGE!
(your's is probably saying more words then mine! (lol!)

My was about 20lbs but just had V&D and then Chest Infection so weighs about 19.5 at the minute, but as Jessica said she is just a dot! But if you look at clothes the weight for 9-12 mths says up to 26lbs on some so your baby is fine! x Oh and my DD is 76 cm x

My daughter is 19 and 1/2 lb and is 29 3/4 inches tall. She was growing very rapidly when she was younger being in the 60% for weight and 90% for height. And has slowed down a lot being at maybe 20% for weight and 30% for height.

My son is 25 lbs and 35 inches (50th percentile for weight & 95th percentile for height).

I think what all these responses state is that there is a wide variety of normal. Unless your pediatrician is concerned, do not worry about it!

My son is now 16 months old but at his 15 month well child check up he was 10.4kg and 75.5cm in length. His head circumference was 49cm. He is at the bottom of the graph for length and under "average" for his weight and way off the graph for his head circumference!!
