How cool! I'm actually planning on a ladybug birthday theme for my daughter who will be 2 in September. I simply came up with the theme from my the Valentine's dinner at my mom's church this past February. Since my mom was in charge of decorations, it's an easy theme to pull off!

Another idea for you to consider.....duckies. My friend did her daughter's second birthday party at home & served cheese & "quakers" (crackers) & had blue punch in a clear bowl with rubbie duckies floating in it. It was really cute, & very cheap! :)

Jade's 1st birthday was in ladybugs...it was "Our Little Lady is turning 1" it was adorable!!! For her 2nd birthday we are doing it Tennessee Vols orange and white since her bday will always fall around the Vols/Gators match up!! We're gonna have it in our backyard that way the guys can watch the game!

My daughter, Sunshine, LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. There are things for both Minnie and Mickey, so I bought a variety of both (so it wouldn't be JUST one or the other). I see that you said she likes puppies, here is a link to Party City that may help you out.

Just make sure you all have fun!

Ladybugs!

But I'm biased, that's my daughter's bedroom theme.

We're thinking about dinosaurs for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She loves dinosaurs. But all the dinosaur stuff out there is geared for boys. Since when are dinosaurs a boy thing?

I was going to say make it personal, but also hold off until closer to the time. My daughter has a major obsession with winnie the pooh at the moment and I am looking forward to theming her party that for this year, however, at the same time, within an instant she could snap and change!! so I dont want to be stuck with a bucket load of pooh bear merchandise!

THX 2 ALL OF U!! MY BABY DOESNT HAVE A CERTAIN CHARACTER SHE LIKES RIGHT NOW. SHE LIKES PUPPIES ALOTH THOUGH SO MAYBE ILL TRY TO FIND SOMETHING WITH PUPPIES INSTEAD OF THE 3 CHOICES I LISTED.......4 MORE MONTHS TIL HER BDAY SO THAT MEANS AT LEAST 3 MONTHS UNTIL I MAKE A FINAL DECISION. I LIKE 2 PLAN AHEAD

for my daughter's first b-day we did my little pony, so for her second b-day i might do barbie or disney faries she likes tinkerbell.(either that or just go 2 the dollar store and see what they have there) u just gotta see whats in your buget and what she gets excited about or do whatever interests you because if ur excited about it she will be the happiest littlest girl in the world when she see's the smiles on ur face. but if u don't have alot of money don't forget she is still young and will never care if u get plain colors (striped, polka dots, etc.) or if u spend a fortune on characters

Minnie Mouse or Ladybugs! I had a polka dot theme for my daughter's 1st Birthday - it's easy to find decor for it and is less expensive than the theme's. With both the above you can improvise with colours and dots.

It's obviously got to be a personal thing...whatever her favourite character is. If she doesn't have one, then a popular character or why not go a different way & have a colour them or something? Like everyone dresses in a specific colour, or in their favorite colour?

What is she into. Does she like any certain character? Does she like any certain cartoons or get happy when she see's a certain character or cartoon? Thats how i choose my sons birthday themes. This year I think im going with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme =)
