At what age did your child start crawling?

My son is 9 months old and he is crawling. He started at 7 months but a very robotic kind of crawling. He started by getting on crawling position and swinging back and forth. My oldest son started to crawl at 10 months but only for a month and then by 11 months he was walking.

My son started 'caterpiller' crawling at 4.5 months, then 'commando' crawled not long after. He then crawled on his hands and knees about 8 months and has now mastered 'cruising' the furniture. I guess he decided he wanted to try them all out. LOL.

My daughter started crawling a few days after she hit 9 months. Even though some kids never crawl, she had me worried b/c I felt it was so late. She rolled late too: 6 months. My son, on the other hand, rolled at 4 months and crawled at almost 8. It's hard to not compare them, but we all do. Yesterday though, she said her first word (she's 9.5 months now) and my son did not do that until 11 months. It all works out in the end.

My son is 9 1/2 months. He just army crawls for now, but I am seeing progress! He just has to get that belly off the floor! :)

My son is almost 10 months old. He used to get around by bouncing around on his behind (which was very cute and looked painful though he liked it). Then one week ago he began to crawl. It took him no time at all to do it and he lifts himself up to a standing position without effort. So your child's almost there!

DD started crawling around 6.5 months. She was pulling up by that time too. She's been cruising around for the past month and started really walking on her own last week. She still has to pull herself up with something, she can't get to the standing position on her own yet. She'll be 10 months on Saturday.

my son just started walking a little while ago, he is 9 months now he started to crawl for real around 6 months or so... his doctor told me that some babies don't crawl at all. he is funny though he crawls on one knee and a foot.. and he scoots around on him bum. he loves walking, but dont rush it cause once they start they don't stop.

My son started crawling a week after he turned 7 months but he would only go BACKWARDS pretty funny he finally accomplished crawling FORWARD about a week after that so he was about 7 1/2 months

My daughter is 10mnths in a couple of weeks and shes getting around on her arms but she can get to werever she wants to go. I worry all the time that shes not crawling when all her friends started when they were 7mnths i dnt know what im doing wrong. But everyone is saying that she will do it in her own time so im not to worryed now. if shes happy and is doing everything else right then she will be fine. I hope this has helped.

My son is 8 months old and started crawling at 7 months but ironically he learned to cruise along furniture at 6 months. He can walk along furniture better than he can crawl. He did not like to be on his stomach so would only spend time that way for about 10 minutes at a time. Usually babies learn to crawl between 7 and 10 months. My daughter learned at 8 months but started walking at nine months! My son can now stand alone and will soon begin to take steps. My son is also a big baby, 27 lbs at 8 months and I've heard big babies take longer to do things because of their weight but its not true for him and my daughter was big too and she did just fine. It just depends on the babies drive, if they are happy being stationary they won't want to crawl, some don't crawl. If your baby has some sort of way to get around, crawling might never happen. Crawling is not a milestone that a baby has to hit, getting around is actually the milestone.

My son started crawling around 7 1/2 months old and started pulling himself up on things 2 days later.. now, almost 9 months old.. is trying to stand up on his own ( by pulling himself up and letting go.. and hoping for the best..haha) and walks around all of my furniture.

My son Aiden started commando crawling at about 7 month, then normal crawling at 7 and half months. He has started pulling himself up to standing on furniture and in his cot and will walk aroung holding your hands.

Owen started "commando" crawling at around 6.5 months but he would only go backwards. he then moved on to crawling backward (on his hands and knees) at 7 months. just last weekend he mastered going forward and he is 8.5 months. now he is off a crawling all over the place.... i can't get over how fast he is!!! lol

Our son isnt crawling yet either and he will be 9 months on 8th June! He loves being upright and can walk around if we are holding his hands...he also loves to kick his soft football areound the house lol. He can hold himself up in the crawling position and rock backward and forwards but thats all. Oh he did take 2 steps on his own the other night, not sure who was more suprised him or me! x

my daughter has masterd crawing shes been practising since she was 6months now almost 8months she is now trying to get up she holds on to things and sits on her knees to reach things this is okay when iam close by to catch her when she fall backwards i give her another month i think she will be cruzing well walking for sure by 12months i wish she would slow down a little

My older 3 started crawling about age 10-11 mos. My youngest will be 9 mos June 4, and isnt even trying to get up on his knees, he actually hates belly time just like the other 3 did. The docs tell me not to worry when he is ready he will do it or maybe he wont, he might just walk instead. Hang in there it will happen!!

Bronwyn has started crawling. She's a pro at the "Commando Crawl" (arms only) and has been since around 7 months old. Now she's working on normal crawling and "Bear Walking" (aka lifting herself right up to be on her hands and feet) at the same time.

I've got a preemie (8 1/2 months/6 months corrected) and we have clinic to check on his development. The lovely nurses and doctors assured me that babies typically start showing signs of crawling til around 9 months old however, all kids are different, some start earlier, some later. If your little guy is getting his tummy time in, and showing an interest in moving (by reaching for objects and scooting around) he should be fine.

My son starting crawling around 6 1/2 months. Around 7 months, he began pulling himself up to standing. now, at 8 months, he can walk around if he's holding onto the couch, coffee table, or crib rails. I'm sure he'll be walking by 9 or 10 months.
I wouldn't worry if your kids aren't crawling yet. Enjoy it. You'll be chasing them around soon enough!

My daugther startet too crawl when she was 7 months old. My son didn't start befor he was 10 months old, but he was buttjumper (I don't know what too call it in english) from he was 8 months. He took he's first steps the day before he became 11 months old.



Just be glad that he ain't that mobile yet, and enjoy it! The time will come when you have too run after him... Our daugther can get almost everywere she wants, and sometimes I wish that she couldn't.

My son is almost 8 months old, and he is not crawling yet. He can turn himself in circles and push himself backwards on his tummy pretty well. He's starting to pull himself forward like an army crawl a little.
