Hello - My son Ethan will be 5 months on 2/9/09. We are taking him on his first flight on Wed and was wondering if anyone had any advice for us! I'm a little anxious - I don't want to be that person with the screaming baby!!! If you can share your experiences or tips, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey Guys,

I took my daughter for her first fligt a little before she was 3 months(12/23/08). Her father lives in Mexico so it was her first trip to see him:) She was very good on the plane. She slept almost through the whole 3 hour flight. What I did was woke Rubi up when I got up in the morning(this may only work if you have morning flights) at 4:45am. Got her ready and fed her. Our flight was not until 9:30am. Anyways, I tried to keep her awake as long as possible and not feed her before we got on the plane. That way when we got on the plane she was hungry and ate during take off (which is good because she does not take a nookie, so the eating helped her ears), then when she was done she was really tired from getting up so early and went pretty much right to sleep:) The experience home was a little different, we had a 6:15pm flight, we had done a lot of traveling by bus during the day so she had slept alot during the day, but I pretty much did the same thing, she was a little fussy for about 30 mintues or so, but then slept again. Don't worry there were other babies on my flight and they all seemed to have their fussy moments :) Each at different times, haha. I hope this helps a little.
