I am having trouble getting my little boy to have a BM regularly.He grunts constantly and makes me think he's about to give himself a hemorrhoid but still nothing. I have tried the prune juice and kayro syrup and still nothing again.....i no the BM slow down some as they get a little older and I have started to supplement with formula but I dont know what to do...any suggestions?

Try cycling his legs ... thats wot the doc told me to do ... also try plain cooled boiled water (an ounce or so here and there through the day) ... it worked for my little girl when she was battling.

My 9 week old is the same way. Our doctor said it is totally normal for babies to struggle with gas and BMs; their digestive system is still working itself out and they are extremely uncoordinated at pushing stuff out...which causes the grunting, scrunching, etc.

I breast feed & supplement formula for his last feeding before bed. I was worried too when he started only having a BM every other day but after reading up on it that isn't uncommon once they reach 6 weeks old.

If you are worried I would contact your doctor before trying anything else. My little one only goes about once every 2 days, and my doctor said that is fine.

you could try infants friend its natural and organic it really helps my little one go and with wind really settles them

I am new mom of a 9 week old and when he has his BM he acts like it's hard for he to go and then when I go to change him is very loose. My little one goes every other day, his body is changing.
