Does anyone have any suggestions on a good convertable carseat? My son is 6 1/2 months old and is getting to be where he needs a bigger carseat than his infant seat. I got the Eddie Bauer Kingston 3 in 1 for Christmas and it doesnt nearly get tight enought for my liking in the car. I have a 2008 Galant so if anyone has any suggestions out there I would really like to hear them! Thank you!

In my car, I have a Alpha Omega Elite for my daughter (9 months old) and a Graco Nautilus for my son (2 1/2 yrs. old)

In my husbands car, we have another Alpha Omega Elite for my daughter (we never used an infant seat, I personally really dislike them) and for my son we have a Britax Marathon.

I love all the seats we have. :)

We just bought The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat frrom Target about a month ago and it seems to work great. It was a little tricky to install but it seems really comfortable.

We have the Britax Roundabout and we LOVE it. We used it with our daughter 4 years ago, as well. My 9 month old is in it rear facing and will then use it forward facing later on. Goes to 35 lbs. rear facing and 40 lbs. forward facing. Has LATCH.

I got the britax boulevard click and safe convertable car seat. When you pull the strap to tighten it will click when you know it is tight enough which I love. It is very expensive but for my son's safety I couldn't put a price limit on that!

I have a Cosco Scenera, and although it's on the cheaper end of convertibles, we really like it! It's also not quite as tall as many other convertibles we looked at, so it fits better rear-facing. We'll have to buy another seat eventually (FF-to-booster, probably), but that's OK.

I have a 2006 Ford Escape and LOVE our Evenflo Triumph Advance convertible carseat. It is so plush and soft!! Used Evenflo for our infant carseat and so far they have served us well. Goes from 5-50lbs and from 19-50in so it will last us a long time. Is easy to adjust (thank heavens!) but on the downside, and I'm not sure if it's just my type of suv, but doesn't lean back enough in the rear-facing position so I have to use the rolled up-towel trick.

On a strange note.. my mother in law was telling me that back when she had kids (25-30 years ago) they did not use carseats, in fact, they used NOTHING to secure the child... just laid them all willy-nilly in the passenger seat and if they slid off, put them back up and continued driving.

I find this INSANE. I love our daughter wayyyyy too much to ever take the risk. So glad there are laws against this now!!!
