Ellen, why do you put fruit nectar in the bottle? Colic calm is a natural remedy. It has ginger and fennel i think it is, that calms and soothes the stomach.

glad I found this question!  My son was born a month early and we've been through it all!  WE are currently seeing a pediatric GI to help us out.  I stopped breastfeeding when he was 11 weeks old because he was throwing up all the time and not gaining weight.  We went on Alimentum formula and it was torture because it's sooooo expensive!  But, he did start to do better.  Once we saw the GI she told us to stop the alimentum and do a regular formula.  didn't work!  We are now on Soy and he seems to be doing ok. We also have to put cereal in every bottle and fruit nectar in his bottles twice a day.  We are also on baby prilosec (have been on zantc with no luck)

He is 4.5 months, but really developmentally only 3.5 months so they say we have to take that into consideration....usually 4 months is the magic age, so I'm hoping once he is 5 months, adjusted age 4 months, we'll see some improvement!  We have seen a lot of improvement in the last month, but he still has a fussy time every night--just not for 3 hours straight anymore.

What is Colic Calm and Happi Tummi waist band?! ?!

My baby was also preemie and had really bad acid reflux and colic. The doctor had her switch formulas with no luck really. We ended up staying on Enfamil Lipil. She is on the baby version of prilosec which seems to help. The colic ended at about 3 months, thank goodness, lol. That was a total nightmare. I know the dr. brown bottles really made a difference, and we also used colic calm, gripe water. I've heard that by 6 months the colic should go away. So hang in there.

Is he 18 yet? My son Jesse was diagnosed with acid relux when he was only a week old. We tried the baby version of Zantec and that didn't help. We tried switching formulas and then the ped put him on the baby version of Prilosec which didn't really help either. So we tried a different formula. We were told it was very common with preemies and that he would outgrow it eventually. He is now on Similac Isomic and Zantec. He will be 4 months next week and is starting to do better.

The colic symptoms have been decreasing as well as he is getting older. We did have some luck with Colic Calm. It seemed to help a little. He did like the Happi Tummi waist band when he was real fussy.

Hope that helps.
