My 3 year old has been a real good sleeper sleeping through the night until just recently.

The past few nights she has been going to bed at 7:30pm as usual but by 10:30-11pm she is waking up and crying and calling my name. SHe doesn't seem scared or anything like that (like they are supposed to in night terrors) though she is unable to tell you what is wrong and isn't really asleep.

She has woken twice holding her tummy saying it is sore and we are getting the doctor to look at that, but that is only a reason she has given me for 2 instances of waking.

SHe sometimes settles back down and goes back to sleep and other times she just keeps on crying. When she does settle in can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours max before she is awake again.

In the morning when I ask her about it she just frowns at me. I was wondering if anyone else has been through something similar or has any advice??

My 3 year old daughter has never been a good sleeper. She has a few good night where she won't wake up all night. But, the majority of the time she is always up calling for me.

I usually just give her milk, check her pants to make sure she isn't wet and she'll go back to sleep.

I don't know how to really deal with her and her sleep "issues" I guess.

Also, my 3 year old refuses to go to the "Big Girl Potty"

She absolutely does not want to be a "big girl"

I tried getting her to wear her big panties, and she runs from me.

Losing hope.

--But as for your child. My advice is just comfort. There really isn't anything I think you can do. Your child will eventually grow out of it, I'm sure.

maybe she is seeing spirits my daughter at 3 spoke of them all the time and would even talk to them all hours of the day and night. she is 20 today and still is in tune with the other side. ask her and see what she tells you. maybe its something else but a lot of very young children can see spirits parent dont want to talk about it or they think the child is making it up. I have live though it and it is very real. maybe it something who knows. my son who is 3 now some times wake up and yells or talks for a min then he is right back to sleep

Even though she isn't "scared" it could still be night terrors. My 3 yr old does the same thing sometimes. She'll wake and call out and when I go in she's almost catatonic. She'll eventually lay back down and go immediately back to sleep. It's scary and weird. I'm interested to hear if other people have the same experiences. Sadly I don't have any advice but to comfort her as best you can. It's always the nights that my baby is sleeping well that Emma wakes up a bunch of times...go figure. :)
