My son is on a variety of foods and he's 7-1/2 months now.  He eats the following: oatmeal, rice cereal, barley, beef, chicken, turkey, ham, squash, zucchini, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes (w/cinnamon too), garbanzo beans, peas, apples, apricots, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, mangos, pears, pineapple, blackberries, raspberries, tomatoes, mac-n-cheese, etc.

I make my own food and I buy 2nd foods of Earth's Best organic baby purees.  I'm slowly transitioning to third foods now.

Today's menu was:

Breakfast - oatmeal with pears

Lunch - rice and lentil dinner with carrots and green beans

Dinner - peas with turkey dinner and carrots

Dessert - bananas and mangos

At her 6 month appt, my ped said I could start meat!  So you can try that if you want.  I haven't yet, pureeing meat freaks me out.

So far I've fed mine apples, bananas, papaya, pear, mango, prunes, brocolli, peas, sweet potato, butternut squash, oatmeal and rice.

We have done fruits and veggies. Also we have started giving her satine crackers that are not salted. We break them up really small and I always watch her when she eats them.

I started my son on solids at 4 months, oatmeal, veggies and fruit.  He is 6 months now and just started stage 2 dinners.  Make sure you read the ingredients first, my ped recommended that I wait until 9 months to start introducing wheat.

Post a reply! My pediatrician asked my to start doing three meals a day with my 6 month old... he was eating too much formula every day...I do 1 jar of fruit in the am before his morning bottle, 1 jar of veggies at lunch, and 1 jar of a stage 2 dinner (he loves chicken noodle soup). He still drinks about 32 oz. formula per/day. it's important to remember that a child at that age still gets most of it's nutrients from formula/breastmilk. Food should be considered extra!

our little boy is 7 months old and eats everything , he has what ever we have for dinner just mashed up, he has never complained and i havent found anything he doesnt like....yet!

I indroduced a different food every other day just to make sure he didnt have any reaction to anything, i was told from my health visitor that from 6 months they can have most things but i do understand it differs from one place to another, plus he started on solids from 4 months so he has been eating solids for quite a while now. x

I started solids when my lil girl was 5mths old.  Started with Avacado then sweet potatoe, squash, and green beans.  When she hit 6mths that is when I started  her on cereal and now she is trying carrots.
