Can I give my son regular milk now. Hes 11 months. I want him to get formiliarized with it so I was going to mix it with his formula or breastmilk. Is it best to give 2% or whole milk?

Check with your pedi on that, Jessica. 99% of the time they say not to give them 2%, 1% or skim. They need the fat from the whole milk, WIC in most states will only allow you to get whole milk from 12-24months.

WHOLE MILK! It is what is recommended from 12-24months. It it completely fine to start giving it to him as long as he is not sick and doesnt have any rashes or anything (so that you know if he has an allergy to it).
Also, I would suggest weaning, give him part milk part b-milk/formula. My son typically drinks a 6oz bottle of formula so I've been adding 1oz of milk (only for 2days now) and after a few more I'll gradually increase that amount. Zach is prone to yeast infections and other rashes which is part of why I started out a small amount also it will help him learn to digest it easier :)

I have just started giving my wee girl full milk but she has formula at bedtime. As long a your child is eating 3 meals a day + snacks & is getting lots of vegies & different foods into them, whole milk is fine but if your child doesnt eat much & is a fussy eater i would still be giving formula

my son is 11 months and I give him whole milk. We have been for about 2 weeks now. He simply refused formula one day and we had no choice but to put him on milk.

my son has been on regular milk since he was nine months old as the doctor told us to. he loves and didnt like any formular. he's been having it mixed in with his food since he was six months old. its best to give them whole milk so that they get the goodness

I am giving my alomost one year old whole milk. He is doing great with it and I started by mixing it half milk and half formula to get him used to it. (If he gets a little constipated try baby food prunes they work like a charm)

straight from the fridge, and my milk is really cold because there is a beverage cooler in my fridge. but they have never had a problem with how cold it is.

Do you guys warm up the milk or just give it to them straight from the fridge?

I starting giving my girls milk right after they turned 11 months. I switched them over to it fully and I give them 2% becuase that is what we drink... and my mom gave me and all my siblings 2% and we are just fine. but they have been fine and actually love their milk!

My pediatrician said that giving my daughter some milk, such as in a sippy with her snacks, is fine but not to use it as a replacement for her formula yet because she still needs the vitamins in the formula. She also said that whole milk is fine because, like Robyn already said, the extra fat in it is good for brain and tissue development.

I was told by his doctor it is ok to give my son some whole milk...but we are still suppose to give him some formula because of all the vitamins and nutrition...

I give my son whole milk, and have read that it is best to do so, even though some disagree. From what I have read the extra fat in whole milk is good for brain development.
