Anyone else having green poop issues? Madison is eating fine, sleeping fine, everything on the net seems to indicate that its a foremilk/hindmilk issue so I'm trying to stay longer on one breast before switching.

Ideas?

Pauline...I just returned from my daughter's 2 month well-baby appointment and asked my provider this exact question. I too was worried about my daughter getting enough hindmilk. My provider assured me green and yellow poop in breastfed babies is NORMAL. My daughter seems to have green poop about half the time and yellow the other half. Go with your gut instinct and don't spend too much time worrying about it if your daughter seems happy! Good luck to all of us!

My little boy was born on Sept. 16 and is on formula and doing the same thing so it's really nothing to worry about, it's just their digestive system trying to work itself out.

KEEP BREASTFEEDING!! :) Its so much better!! My baby has had green poop and that was when he wasnt staying latched on for as long, so now I really compress my breasts when he's eating and almost "milk" myself... it sounds so weird but what we will do for our babies to make sure they are getting what they need!! As long as Madison is acting fine I would keep up the breastfeeding

it is normal sometimes and it can be the foremilk/hindmilk issue. just make sure you compress your boob while he is eating and keep him on for at least 15 mins and you will be fine. if he is not in pain then i wouldn't worry about it.

My baby is doing the same...I just switched him from Infamil Lipil to the sensitive (purple label) brand. ANd, I breastfeed.

Yes my baby is breastfed and pooping green as well. The other thing I read on the net is that it could be cow's milk allergy. I have almost elimated dairy from my diet for over 3 weeks now... and it's super hard to do!! There is not really any change. Two doctors have told me that it is normal and not to worry about it

The AAP book that I've got suggests that baby poop can be all kinds of different colors, green included. If your feedings are going well and the baby seems full and happy, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
