I had problems with them leaking and the formula also comes up fast so my daughter ended up spitting all of her formula up so we switched to Dr. Browns and Born Free bottles. We like those a lot.

We use the Avent bottles, and haven't had any trouble with them with either kid. We haven't used them heavily though; my first got 1 bottle a day for the first 9 months (after the first 8 weeks), then an occasional one after that, none past 1 year, and my second only gets 1 bottle a week, if that, on average.

We use the Avent and the Born Free bottles. Neither my husband or I have had real issues with the bottles leaking. Like some other people have said, they only leak if the topis screwed on too tight. When he was only 2 or 3 months old, the milk came out too fast and would pour out of his mouth but then we realized there were numbers on the nipples to tell the different size of the hole.

My son had a feeding issue (chewed instead of suck & drew his tongue back) when he was born. I tried everything! Some of my friends liked the advent so I tried it. My son preferred it over the Dr. Brown and playtex and every other kind. When he went to breast only (thank God) the advent was the last to go. But he will take it from someone other than me. Good luck with your quest and remember every baby is different.

I used Avent bottles when my 5 year old was a baby and of course I use them with my baby now because I loved them. I haven't had any problems out of them I just make sure I change the nipples as he grows.

I have had issues with that, you just have to make sure that they are on really tight. As far as anyone having problems with the flow, they sell nipples that have different types of flows.

i had some leaking problems with those bottles and also when baby was sucking the teat would suck back into the bottle about halfway through the feed and i would have to undo the lid and then put it back on. I started using Tommee Tippee and they are so far the best i have ever come across and the teat on them are very much like a nipple?!!

I use the Avent (Ventairre) bottles because I was told they are best for babies that need to go from the breast to bottle (back & forth) and she took it from the start. I have noticed some leaking sometimes but usually I just retwist and its fine. What I find annoying is that the numbers of ounces seems to wear away after a handful of washings...........

I use the Avent bottles and just LOVE them. There were a couple times that they did leak but I figured out that when you tighten them, you wait until you hear the air come out of it. And they didnt leak at all anymore.

I sent an email to Phillips about it since more people than me seem to have this issue. Here is their response about the avent bottles leaking.
Thank you for contacting us about your AVENT Feeding Bottles. We have some
advice that may help resolve the problems you have experienced.
The connection between the bottle and the nipple is very important as it
provides a seal and vacuum to avoid leaking. Please be aware that the
nipple should be wet or damp during connection to ensure the best seal.
This is achieved by wetting the skirt on the nipple and snapping it into
the ring, making it upright and ready for use.
Additionally, we also suggest closing the bottle slowly and thoroughly
cleaning the neck of the bottle when using formula as any residue of powder
could obstruct the anti-colic valve. In this case, it is more advisable to
mix the formula prior to putting it into the bottle, making sure the powder
is completely dissolved.

i've used avent bottles with all 3 of my kids....they can be annoying!!! i've found it helps if you don't tighten it as tight as it will go. twist it just enough to make sure it won't come off.

We have had that issue with the avent bottles. Usually at the 2am feeding .....
I found that they leak if you get the lids on to tight. So I make the bottle then hold it upside down and test it before using it. If it leaks, then I loosen it slightlly and test it again.
We tried a few other types of bottles but the avent ones are the only ones that Jesse liked so I guess we are stuck with them.

Sammie, I was using them with my son to supplement and we stopped using them and switched to Dr. Browns because of the leaking, not to mention the nipples were drowning him when he fed.
