My six month old daughter wants a bottle like every 2 hours and it is so aggravating. She cries hysterically like she hasn't eaten in days. It makes me so mad! I know she can't be that hungry. I try to hold her off but I can't take the screaming. She gets fed solids 2x ad ay. 3 tblspoons of cereal and 1/2 pack of veggies. Today at dinner I gave her the whole pack of veggies and she is still screaming her head off 2 and a half hours later. Please help. I have no patience for this.

PS When I tried solids 3x day she didnt want the formula at all...

Some babies don't like "schedules".  Maybe your baby just has a really high metabolism, just feed her.  Eventually she'll work out her own feeding routine, give it some time.  My son from 4-5 months wanted to eat every 2 hours, plus solids, drove me crazy.  I tried everything to calm him down, but he wasn't going to have it, so I just fed him.  Now he's 6 months and going about every 4 hours to eat with 3 meals a day.

Quoting Cynthia:

Sorry if this comes across as a dumb question, but I have to ask...is she hungry or thirsty? My first son was thirsty in between feeds and I would simply allow small amounts of water to keep him satisfied to the next feed (an ounce or less). If your home is hot and dry he could be dehydrating quickly.

When you mix the cereal are you using formula or water? To get her more filled up, make sure you mix it with formula...any of the cereals I gave my first son we also mixed with breast milk to give him not only the comfort of a familiar taste but also a higher calorie intake and hopefully more filling.

lastly my second son who is also 6 months old (today!) if doing the same. He is breast feeding nearly every two hours during the day, but the most awesome part of this is he is now sleeping through the night. So it is normal for a infant/toddler to feed every 2-3 hours during the day (think about it 7am breaky, 930am snack, 1130-12 lunch, 3:30 snack, 530-6pm dinner, 7-8 bedtime snack, then hopefully sleep :-). If my 6 month old is hungry I simply feed him. no stress. take a big breath and be ok with it as this is normal and she very well might be going through a growth spurt so feed away. good luck.

You are right if she is hungry I should just feed her. I do not know why it bothers me so much.  I think it is part a loss of control type thing.   Also I cannot get things done if I am always feeding her and i desperately want her to be on a regular schedule.

My son did for awhile as well.  We increased his ounces in his bottles and he lasted longer.  We also instead of doing solids with the bottle, wait an hour then do solids.  But otherwise my son wants to feed every 3-4 hours.
