Homeopathic Remedies

Do you use them? Do you find they work?

My friend recently started giving her son Coryzalia for his sinus cold. I look after her son for childcare. She offered to let me give some to my son. I didn't see any change in her son from before or after I gave him the dose she requested I give him with his breakfast. His nose ran just as much, he coughed just as much and he was still a bit fussy because he has a cold.

I personally am very hesitant to use homeopathic remedies for colds (cough and sinus congestion) and teething. My thought process is that these are products that have not necessarily been tested extensively and could be detrimental or a waste of money. Detrimental in that they could have unknown side effects that harm my child. A waste of money because the product does nothing.

I have personally used them and my son when he was teething used them.. I swear by them... the most important thing in my opinion (because I do not have enough time right now to become totally familiar with ALL remedies) is to see a medical professional for them. I know you can just grab them at the healthfood store, but I have had much better results with visiting my chiropractor who also is a homeopathic doctor... If you dont have the right remedy, you're right, its not going to help and it would be a waste of money, you might suggest for your friend to try some phosphorus to her for her son's cold, I've found that it helps, but again like I said going to a professional would be the best.
