I'm reading how people are gettin' their wee ones sleeping 8 hours a night! How?!?! and Tell me?!! :) My little one will sleep in 3-4 hour intervals and want to eat a little in between.

I'm with Jennifer- "On Becoming Babywise" is THE book to have! My nine week old has been sleeping through the night for a week and it is SOOOOO nice! It did take a little effort in training (the book says they may cry a little, but Molly never really needed that! In the end when I had the feeling she was on the brink of sleeping through the night I actually nursed her 5 minutes then laid her back down.I'm a girl who needs SLEEP and it has been absolutely wonderful. She's a sweet baby during the day too. This is my 2nd "Babywise" baby. I have 3 kids. My first girl didn't sleep through the night til nine months.

Our 7-week-old daughter is waking only once between 10pm and 7am for a feeding. We are also following the "Babywise" philosophy, putting her down when she's still awake so she learns to soothe herself. But also, making sure she eats every 3 hours during the day gives her the necessary calories to get her to go longer without eating during the night.

I'm also a huge fan of Babywise. So many great concepts to give you confidence as a Mom. Definitely worth a read even if you don't follow it to a tee.

My son is 2 months old today. He usually gets up around 1am and again around 4-5am to eat. However, last night he was up every 2-2.5 hours. Some nights are better than others. But he's a hungry guy (already about 14 lbs) so I feed him when he wants it. He'll sleep thru the night eventually.

I put my lil girl Emme 2 bed awake i swaddle her and shes on hungry baby milk n still she wakes whenever it takes her fancy there is no pattern wotsoever and she is 10 weeks old. I did exactly the same with my lil boy Kai and he as always been an amazing sleeper. I really do believe that a baby will sleep when there ready and lets face it they are very young to be sleeping through the night. Im trying to make the most of her being tiny even the hard bits because lets face it, they are all grown up before we no it anyway x

My son sleeps at 10pm, wakes at 1am, and just after 4am, when he then stays awake. He's 8 weeks old.

Every baby is different. I'm just taking every night as it comes.

Have you tried swaddling? My son used to wake a lot more than that before i swaddled him.

My baby sleeps from about 9pm-9am and wakes up to eat twice but is still sleeping. I found that giving him a bath every night soothes him and now he can't really rest easy without it.

I have been very blessed in that both of my boys have been great sleepers, especially my new baby. Since he came home from the hospital, he's only been getting up once a night. Honestly, I don't know if there is any special "technique", but according to my pediatrician, if you put a baby down when he/she is still awake, they will start sleeping longer and longer. Good luck!!!

"On Becoming Babywise." This book is how our 8 week old son only wakes up once at night and we expect him to sleep through the night any time now. I would love to tell you more if you want...
