Is your baby walking, do they have teeth? How old are they?

My daughter is confidently standing up though hasnt attempted to take any steps. She has her two front bottom teeth though no others. She was born on the 7th of september. Just wanted to know about her teeth because other mums I know with babies the same age has several teeth and mine only has two. And the fact that she is staning fine, wondering how to encourage her to take those first steps.

My son was born Sept. 2, he took his first steps in July, but didn't start walking regularly until the middle of August. He has four teeth, 2 on top and 2 on the bottom, they all came in within weeks of each other.

My now 9yr old didn't get her first tooth until she was 10months, and every tooth since then has come in slowly. She is now in fourth grade and has only lost 5 of her baby teeth. My pediatritian said this was normal, late to get them, late to fall out. If you are concerned about your childs teeth, or lack of, ask at her next checkup. As for the first steps, walk holding hands when ever possible, and then if she lets you let go and stand a couple feet away from her. Good luck!

my son has four bottom teeth and four top and is breaking his two top molars. However, this all happened within the last two months. His bday was on the 2nd of september. He started walking about two weeks before his bday. However, I work with infants, and toddlers all day. They are very different I knew a little girl that didn't cut any teeth until she was 13 months old and she is now 16 months and only has two bottom and cutting her two top ones. She just started walking too. So I don't think it's so uncommon to only have a few teeth and not walking yet. With walking we always tried different things like pushing a wagon around in the back yard, walking with our fingers only, or only giving him one hand to walk with. We also stood him up about a foot away from us to see if he would come to us. He eventually got it and started to move his feet. Hope this helps!

First of all, take a deep breath and relax. Only 25% of babies start walking by 11 months. The rest wait until 15 - 18 months. We just kept encouraging her to walk to us. She started with 2 steps and eventually worked up to about 10 on her birthday the 2nd. Now she a walking fool.

As far as teeth. My daughter only had the 2 bottom teeth until 11.5 months. Now she has 6 and more on the way. Weirdest thing though. She got an upper molar before her upper front.

Here's a good article on teeth timeline. http://www.parenttime.com/babyarticles/t...

Wow.. there's alot of Sept. 15 babies!!! My daughter was born on Sept. 15 and she has 2 teeth on the bottom. That's the only ones she has. I don't know if she's just later than my son was or it's because I breastfed until she was 9 mons. She's still not walking yet. She stands for long periods of time but she doesn't seem to care to walk yet.

My son is walking while we hold his hands, but cautious, he won't take any steps w/out help. He's an avid crawler, chaser of cats, & pulls up on whatever he can. Thaeoden was born Sept 11, he has four teeth (2 on bottom & 2 on top).
Don't worry about the # of teeth, every kid does it at their own pace. When I was a year old I barely had my 1st tooth & some kids have 14 already.
I figure better not rush the walking, they will do it when they are ready. Some are cautious & will not do it until they know they won't fall; while others don't care about falling & will have lots of spills while trying to get walking down.

Every baby is different. Both my kids started getting their teeth around 9/10 months. As off today she has 6, 2 bottom and 4 top. She does not take teething very well and it's been a nightmare to say the least...lol. She walks along furniture fine and great with her push toy but will not go on her own jsut yet. she can stand for about 10 seconds before topples over...lol. I'm not rushing her. She's our last so i wanna keep her a baby for a while longer..lol. Her birthday was Sept. 3

My Caitie is walking, although not very gracefully... Haha. She's had teeth since she was 2 months old, and now the count is at 16. She was born September 3rd. I do think that - as far as the walking - it helped to have her 2.5-year-old cousin around a lot in the last few months. It helped Cait realize that she can't crawl as fast as her cousin can run. :) Every kid's different though. I didn't walk until I was 15 months old. The teeth thing is sorta hereditary, though - I was an early teether, too. Some kids go early, some late. No worries!

My daughter was born on the 24th and has been walking for almost 2 months. But she has a 5 year old sister who she is determined to keep up with so i think that has a lot to do with it. My first didn't walk until a year. So i think it's just every baby at their own pace. And it's exciting to see them walk, but it also offers new challenges to keep everything out of their little hands. :) She only has 2 bottom teeth, although the top 2 look like they will break through at any moment.

My Gabriel was born Sept. 18. He has 8 teeth, and has unfortunately been walking since he was about 10 months. For those of you with babies who don't have many teeth and who don't walk yet, you are SO lucky! :) I have bruises from his bites (he's always being loving while he's doing it), and he can get into everything now that he is so mobile. He loves it though! He has actually been a lot happier since he started walking.

My daughter was born September 30th. She has 9 teeth, got the first 2 at 4 months. She has taken her first step but has not tried to walk unassisted since only with her walker, furniture or holding my hand. She has begun to speak but not always coherently, mostly babble, but we have been able to understand when she says again, all done, baba, duck and dog. I had also heard about the 5-10 words by the age of 1, are they supposed to be spoken perfectly or just understandable? On the other end I was also told that babies hit these milestones during age ranges and that some kids don't talk til they are 2 and don't walk til around 18 months.

My son, Trevon will be 1 on the 23. He has been walking since 9 months and running at 10 months. He never really crawled, except on his hands and feet for a little while. He has 6 teeth and 3 trying to come out, 2 of which are eye teeth. He loves to sing and dance. He shakes his little booty to all kinds of music. He had a push toy that he used for about a week before walking on his own. As light as the toy is, it was great with balance.

My daughter Julianna was born the 30th. She pulls herself up on everything and anything... walls, doors... you name it. She stands by herself for a about a minute. The just decides that crawling is easier. She can walk around our oval coffee table to get what she wants on the table. My Grandmother says the longer they crawl the smarter they are. She said that crawling helps brain development. I don't know how much of this is true. But it is nice to think about. ha ha . She also has 9 teeth and more coming. Each Child is different in the ways that they develop. I think some just feel a comfort in crawling vs. walking. It isn't as easy to fall.

My daughter is 2 days shy of 1 year. She is fully walking and has 6 teeth. Don't push the first steps the average age for first steps is actually 13 months and that is just an average. Half of all babies take their first steps before 13 months and the other half after 13 months. As far as the teeth are concerned. The longer they stay in the gums the better because they will have less time to decay and more of a chance of being cavity free later on.

Cooper will be one on the 23rd and has eight teeth and has been walking for a month now, my daughter had seven teeth at this age and was walking when she was eight months. Don't worry kids do what they want when they are ready. Just try to put her feet on the floor while she is holding on something (wall, table) and then walk a few steps and get down and tell her to walk to you. It won't be long after that first few steps she will be walking.

My little girl was born on September 25. She has 8 teeth, 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom. She can stand up and balance by herself and she has taken some steps but prefers to crawl or cruise around the furniture. I have to encourage her to take the steps by bribing with toys or her brother. (He's nine and loves to play with his baby sister) Its actually a nice change from her sister who walked at nine months.

My Paige was born the 29th September, and has 4 teeth at the top and two at the bottom, started with the eye teeth first unusual, can walk but will fall has to hold on to the furniture to get going, she hasn't quite worked out how to get up off the floor by herself yet but with assistance once she is up she is walking til she falls. Paige can say Dad, Mum, Taylor, Ta, No and Nan she is just starting to try and put two words together the clever little angel she is, don't rush them to grow up as they grow up quite quickly as it is, all children develop at different rates because while they aren't learning to walk they are mastering the world of language.

My son was born on September 3, and has been walking since he was about 7 months old, he has 8 teeth with more budding. Don't worry about when your child gets teeth or starts walking, everything has to do with genetics, and with surroundings. My son is my second child, my daughter didn't start walking till she was a year. My son just has more reason to walk... He wanted to chase his sister around.

Hi, my daughter was born on the 24th. She just received her 3rd tooth, but I've heard of babies that don't get teeth until their first birthday or later. She may get all of them at once. What has your pediatrician said? My daughter takes a few steps, she was lacking the confidence to take them, so I put her in the middle of the floor not near anything she can grab onto, and sat a few steps away so I could grab her if she started to fall over.

He also only has the bottom two front teeth! I'm constantly on the floor with him trying to encourage the first steps...We just recently joined My Gym so I think that he may start walking soon just to keep up with the other children! Good Luck

He started walking a month ago and I tell you there is nothing more exciting that having your baby run to you with his arms open....I love it. But I never thought I was going to have to baby proof the toliet....

He pulls himself up on everything and everyone and cruised that way but hasn't yet taken any steps by himself. We just got him a ride on push toy and I think with a little practice he will take off by himself.

My daughter was born on the 6th and doesn't have any teeth yet! Don't worry about them they come in on their own time. My cousin is a dentist and he said that he has seen that the longer they take to come in the stronger they are. So that is good news for the future, less cavities. As for the walking, don't rush it. The sooner she learns to walk the sooner she will be running away from you. But my little girl isn't walking either.

[deleted account]

My daughter was born Sept 2 she has 8 teeth. She is a walking machine! about a week after she turned 10 months, my husband and I sat down and let her walk between us. After a couple session of that, she became fearless. It took her about a week to figure out she could stand up on her own, now she's unstoppable!

[deleted account]

My Daughter can pull herself up on furniture etc but can only stand on her own for short periods of time. She has got 2 teeth in the front on the bottom and her 2 top front teeth have just cut through. She was born 30 September :)

My son was propping himself up on everything so he could stand. Finally, the day before he turned 10 months old, he walked. Now he does his fair share of walking and crawling. He likes to walk though, he gets very excited. I think the best way to encourage your daughter is to just get excited! Have her stand up and walk with her so she can see the world from a different height. I know my son always got excited when I did that with him. My son has two teeth on the bottom. He has two on the top and two more coming in so by the end of the month, he should have six. The doctor said to worry about teeth, some babies develop them early or later. Its all up to their bodies.

[deleted account]

My son was born the night of September 4th and he has 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom that are in completely and a couple that are just sticking out. He crawls like a little maniac....lol. He cruises right along with the help of furniture...he can stand and keep his balance pretty well....and when he gets really brave he will take about 3 or 4 steps on his own. He always makes sure Im watching....I will hear.. "Ma! Ma!" then he takes those few steps, grabs the couch and smiles so proudly up at me...its so cute!

[deleted account]

Hey, my little gal just started sprouting some teeth a few weeks ago - and she got one in the front / left, top and bottom, but none on the right so far! (Her birthday is 9/4)
=) We were wondering when they would start!
Also she's standing and cruising but only a couple attempts at steps (with floor-smacking results).

My daughter was born 9-19-08. She has 1 tooth on the bottom and that is it! She is still on table foods, though - we just cut everything up small and only feed her soft food (she is still breastfed, too). She is crawling - very quickly!- and she pulls up to standing and "cruises", but she has not stood unsupported yet, and no walking. We aren't rushing her though - she is our 4th and last - and our only girl! We want to treasure every "baby moment" we have left! My neice didn't start walking until 15 months, but my youngest son was walking at 9 months, and both were considered normal, so obviously the "normal range" is a big one.

[deleted account]

My daughter was born on the 27th and has 9 teeth now, with two more visible beneath the gums. She's been walking pretty well since 9 months and now runs and walks backwards as well as forwards. She loves music and when I've got the radio or a CD on or her big sis sings for her she dances around and even jumps a little bit! My older girl was an early walker too but very late in speaking. These things even out in time though - kids just learn new things in a different order

My daughter was born on September 8th - the day after yours! She just got her first two teeth (front bottom) about 2 weeks ago. I questioned this as well, as many mothers that I know claimed that their children had 6 teeth by 11 months - my doctor said that his son didn't get teeth until he was 15 months old! It varies by child, but according to my doctor, there is no need to worry unless they are toothless at about a year and a half old... since she has two already, you're good to go!
