Ok, so we put Marlee to bed, but , you know, she parties in there until she's ready to go to sleep- sooo, I'm guessing she was "walking" around the crib and took a mis-step and fell and her leg became caught in between the rails- 2 nights in a row- she SCREAMED this is not a recalled crib, and thankfully, she's ok- has this happened to anyone else? if it happens again, i may remove the crib and she can sleep in the pack and play....

Quoting Amy:

Our son has gotten his legs stuck in the railings twice before. We were going to place pillows in the crib, but were afraid of him being sufficated. So we decided for him to figure it out on his own and he did. You can always put up bed bumpers. Hope this helps.

It is a VERY bad idea to put pillows or bumpers in the crib. At this age they are smart enough to climb out of the crib by stepping on the padding. It is probably best to put her in a bed instead of letting her fall out of her crib and possibly break her arm or something.

this has happened to me a few times a couple of months ago but my boy just learnt not to do it anymore, if it happens again just remember to lubricate the leg and post to remove ur bubbas leg otherwise u can really hurt then, mosteriser of vaseline does the trick. perhaps u can rub some vaseline onto the bars so if it does happen again, ur child wont freak out cuz they will be able to slide their leg right out on there own

my son has done it a couple times, and i considered putting up bumper pads, but i was told that its better for him to get his leg stuck once or twice then to suffocate.. he hasn't done it in awhile so i'm not to worried

I might suggest moving her up to a toddler bed. My son has been in his for months now, and he loves it. It may cause you concern that she will get up (she will), but she will also usually return to her bed when she is ready to sleep. Our son will wake in the middle of night most nights, get up, run around his room, and go back to sleep in his bed 15minutes later. It takes some getting used to for both of you, but we have found it to be VERY useful in getting a good full nights sleep once we were all used of it. Once our son got used of the freedom of the bed, we closed his door, and he doesn't want to come out of his room (after we put him to bed) until the next morning. This has helped us all get through the night peacefully for about 5months now.

It could be time for a toddler bed but you may want to look into getting a Tots in mind crib tent too. It is a tent that covers the top in a doom fashion and has netting that makes it more diffcult for your little one to put legs and arms through the bars too. Here is a link so you can check it out

good luck

I am thinking your little girl is ready for a toddler bed.
We're moving our son into a toddler bed in the new year, sooner if he does succeed in shimmying his way up the crib rails to climb out. The only reason he hasn't succeeded is that all his sleepers are fleecy.

This may sound crazy... but have you tried rotating the crib by 45 or 90 degrees? My older girl wouldn't sleep in her cot but slept fine in our bed. I observed that in her cot she rotated herself so she was aligned the same way as our bed was and I moved her cot to a different wall so it was in the same alignment as our bed and she was fine straight away! Magnetic baby!

my daughter seems to do it in her sleep during the night - before I go to bed I always check on her and sure enough at least once every night I see her leg right through the rail right over the bumber - it worries me too and I just stick it back in. Considering getting thicker bumpers maybe??

Happens all the time to my daughter less lately because we converted the crib to a toddler bed about two months ago. Kids don't like being stuck so she was probably screaming because she couldn't move her leg not because she is in pain. As long as you are able to remove the leg it's not a cause for too much worry. My daughter still likes to dangle her feet off the bed sometimes but now that one of the sides is gone (except the toddler bed mini-railing things) she never gets stuck. And she only falls out once or twice a month, and since it's so low and we padded it she doesn't get hurt, she just wakes up screaming and mad cause she doesn't know how to get back in the bed so we have to help her.

My daughter has done this once, she loves to lay with her legs up on the rails of the crib and hold and sing to her stuffed toys, and I think her leg slipped between the slats. I think it is bound to happen at least once or twice or so, baby''s legs are slender, and crib slats are regulated to be a set dimension for the "most safety", but little legs and arms will still fit through. If it becomes a recurring thing you could begin the transition to a toddler bed, and if you're concerned with the whole her being able to get up thing, put a gate up in the doorway to her room. We are considering making that move shortly ourselves!
