my two and a half yr old boy is having alot of speech difficulties and his child health nurse is sure that it is related to his tongue tie but every time i take him to the doctors to get it snipped they wont do it and now he is being referred to a speech therapist.. so i am wandering if any one else has had any proiblems similar to this and if so how did u get ur doctors to snip their toungue tie

If it isn't bad enough they won't snip it. The things is you might want to try having another Dr look at him. Most speech therapy isn't covered by insurance and at about $100 a session..... Good luck and go with your gut with what you think needs to be done. Do your research so you are comfortable with your decision.

I'd wait until he sees the speech therapist. Really they will be the ones best able to tell you if it's a problem with his tongue and whether it's because he needs to work on the correct positioning of it or whether it's the tongue itself.
