my son love to bite when he wants somethings

my son is 1year 6 mths... he loves to bite if we fail to grant his request he will just bite either his dad or me.. for example... he wants to sit on the sofa but i was sitting on it.. he come towards me and just bite.. some times i just cant tolerate that kind of behaviour.. but i really dont know what to do.. please can anyone help me..

My son does that too but it mostly too his older brother. I was just recently told to bit him back, I knows its not nice but they need to learn. It's not like I bit him hard, I just bearly touch him. It makes him cry but it doesn't acctually hurt him, it just hurts his feelings.

I think its normal at that age- they cannot talk yet....so they have to get the message accross somehow? I laughed because my 18 month old does the same thing

whenever my son has bitten I set him down and firmly say "no bite." Then explain that it hurts. (I use this tacit with hitting too)

You can also try fake crying and gauge his reaction, some kids will feel bad they made mommy/daddy cry & will learn their lesson. When doing the cry one make sure you say "ouch, that hurt mommy/daddy" (I tried this one with hitting too, it worked, somewhat)

Some people that I know have even bitten their kid back & it made them stop...I just have a few personal issues with that one.
