Son keeps waking up during night?

My son was born sept 1st. Right up until now he always slept in his own bed all night. Now all of a sudden he is coming into my bed 2 or 3 times during the night. I wait till he is asleep and put him back but most times when i go to pick him up he is awake already. He has a night light but he says he is scared too dark? I am going to be a different night light but was wondering if anyone else's kids do this too??

We had to turn oldest daughter's doorknob backwards...they get over and eventually go back to bed and get use to it. I'd make sure he isn't hungry in the middle of the night. I know at this age, they're such finicky eaters and maybe he just needs a snack right before bed. I also let mine take their water sippy with them (just water) we have have really dry conditions, so we can get parched. Just a thought:)

My son was also born sept. 1st! :o)

I switched the lock on his door so it is on the outside, that way he can't roam at night. It works really well for us. If you put your son back to bed while he is sleeping, he is going to be upset when he wakes up and isn't with you anymore. My son went through this stage a week or so ago and we had to let him cry about 3 nights in a row before he stopped getting up in the middle of the night. It was a rough 3 nights, but he is sleeping soundly once again. Good luck.

BTW- when they realize that something works to get attention- they will keep trying it.

My son has been doing that for 3-4 months now. We have given up and most nights just let him stay in our bed once he is there. We also can't get him to go to bed at night and have started letting him fall asleep on the couch and then walk him to bed after he's been asleep an hour or so. Our problems all started a month or so before our daughter was born, almost like he knew something was about to disrupt his life.
