Is he doing it after every time he eats? Make sure it is actual throw up and not just spit up. Spit up can be normal but throwing up not so much. Are you giving him formula or nursing..he might be reacting to that. If you are giving him formula you might need a reflux one or a thicker one that will sit in his belly better. My daughter had a stomach bug a couple weeks ago and threw up after every time she ate or drank. It could be that. She is 8 months too. If you are concerned I'd be safe and go to your pediatrician.

Not to scare you but you might want to see a doctor and have them check the pyloric valve. My son (and actually his dad as well) had a problem where the valve was too big and was causing him to throw up a lot throughout the day. I was lucky and when I went into the hospital with him, I immediately told them that I think it might be Pyloric Stenosis. My son's wasn't as bad and they wanted to rule it out since he wasn't projectile vomiting but I prosisted and he got surgery when he was 5.5 weeks old. Since then, he has only thrown up while he was healing and when he got sick.

My pediatrician said that our baby will most likely start spitting up MORE right now because she's never still...always crawling, rolling and pulling up. She also has reflux, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

My little guy is still spitting up all the time, all day long. Drives me crazy, but doesn't seem to bother him one bit. Poor guy wears a bib every waking moment! Turns out it is an immature flap on his stomach so what goes down usually ends "UP". His brother did the same, so did I and so did my mother...so I can't hide from it, haha. Usually the 1 year mark is the magic moment in our family "puking" history, so hang in there. I'm glad you posted about it, I have felt like no one out there was going through this. Good to know :) Take care.

My bub is still a "happy chucker" and she is 8 months old - I dont think its an issue - I ave heard of many mums with bubs that still chuck well after they have started crawling - they leave a vomit trail behind them for mum to clean up!!! Juliet chucks most after her morning breast feed cos that is when she drinks the most - its just overflow Im sure... as she gets bigger and she has a better idea of when she is full Im sure it will slow down - she doesnt vomit he solids much at all... give your bub a little more time : )

Spitting up i guess. It doesn't bother him at all, its just most of my friends babies have pretty much stopped now. Will speak to my HV about it at his next weigh in. Thanks

Spitting up or really vomiting? There is a difference. Spit ups are normal. Vomiting on the otherhand, that has a puke smell and can almost project, now that's a problem. You'd need to figure out if it's an allergic reaction to food or if baby is sick with a bug. Either way you need to give your baby pedialyte to keep hydrated. When my son was throwing up a lot, my doctor advised me to take him off foods, give him formula diluted a little to help the tummy calm down (I also gave my baby tummy soother by Disney). I did diluted formula for one day, then went to full strength the next day. He vomited again, but I just stayed with the formula. After 24 hours of no vomiting, I was then allowed to introduce rice cereal. If no vomiting again within 24 hours, then I doctor told me to bring back in soft foods that are easy on the tummy like squash, peaches, pears, mango, sweet potatoes. Again no vomiting in 24 hours, I was then allowed to slowly build back up his to regular diet.
