My ten month old doesn't crawl, slither, scoot or pull himself up. He pretty much just sits there happy as a clam. I shouldn't complain but I'm not too sure this is normal. Anyone?

My baby girl isn't doing much either. She just rolls to wherever she wants to go, and is content with that. She is a very lazy baby. She doesn't even like to sit up. She can, she just doesn't like to. I am so okay with that too. I love her being a baby, and I'm not sure I'm ready for her to start crawling and walking yet!

Noah is nearly ten months and is also not crawling. He has been 'nearly' crawling for about the last month, leaning forward on one bent leg and one squashed leg! but he always flattens out with his legs straight out behind him. He loves standing and hes pretty secure, I can almost let go with him using us for minimal support...He doesnt have much fear though so often ends up banging his head whilst lunging forward I have to sit with him all the time so he is safe!

What a relief, I was wondering if we were the only ones who were experiencing that! My son hates tummy time but LOVES to sit and play with the toys that are around him. He has a fair amount of words and communicates well, but no rolling over or crawling just yet. He is starting to move himself in a 360 while on his bottom and boy, he can reach really far (he practically flattens himself!) in order to reach a toy. I'm just grateful he is happy, healthy and a joy to have around. People keep reminding me that I shouldn't rush it and to enjoy it while I can leave him on the floor and go do laundry, go to the washroom or wash dishes! That won't be the case soon enough!

My wee girl is just on 10 months was quite happy just sitting on the floor playing also until last weekend when i started sitting her on the floor with all her toys an arms length away from her. Slowly but surely she started to wriggle her self towards her toys. By the end of the weekend i was able to put her toys even further away. As of yesterday she has started to manouvre herself around the house. you could maybe try this 4 or 5 times a day. Make sure the toys are somrthing they really like or even food. Dont let it upset you if your child still is happy just sitting there. If you are very worried take your child to the doctors to discuss it

Hey Lindsey! My son just turned 11 months last friday and he doesn't crawl, scoot or pull himself up the only thing he does is roll around!!! His doctor told me that he will be fine because some babies don't crawl at all and just start walking! I hope so I thought i was the only one but i'm glad there's more than one person with this issue and i'm here to offer and gain support.

Yep, same here. He's just started going round in circles on his tummy but if I try to put him in a crawling position he pushes his legs out straight. He doesn't really stand if I hold him either. My eldest was the same - didn't crawl until 11 months and was 17 months before he was properly walking on his own. Try not to worry, they just do it when they're ready.

Whew! I'm glad Im not the only one! My son is the same, just content to sit or just lay there. He is starting to lift his bum up so Im sure the moving around bit is coming soon but now Ive just come to terms with him taking his sweet ol' time! I think what worried me in the beginning was reading all the books and he wasn't getting alot of the items 'ticked off' and I was getting frustrated so about a coupel of months ago i just stopped reading and have just gone with the flow. I have spoken to the doctor about his progess (or lack of) and he seems to be okay with how he's growing so I really shouldnt worry.

You are so lucky.. I wish I could have a day off from my son crawling and cruising all over and dumping things, like my cup of coffee off the table! I am sure your little guy will figure it out eventually. I would mention it to his doc at the next appointment, but I am sure baby is fine and will do all of that when ready. Good luck

Don't worry all kids are different!! as long as she is happy I would not worried,
my oldest boy who will be 4 in August, never crawled (well he crawled but that was after he walked and he was a year old) he just never wanted to I guess, he pulled him self up when he was 10 months old. Now my little one is crawling all over the place he is 9 1.2 months old and let me tell u its alot more work!! All babies do things at different stages, it never bothered me that my son didn't crawl, I knew he was fine and I never worried, enjoy your little one.

My little one is basically the same - she loves to just sit. She's begun to stretch out and get herself into a crawl position, but then just stays there until she begins to cry - no movement yet. I figure it'll happen when it happens, because I've never seen a toddler who can't walk! :)
