My 18 month old is 30 lbs and about 36 inches tall. My doctor said there is nothing to worry about as long as he is following his normal growth pattern! My son has always been in the 97th percentile for height and weight since birth (9lb 4oz and 22in). I don't think there is anything to worry about!

I think she fine for her height. I'm starting to hate how much stress dr's put on parents about their child's weight.

My daughter is 20.5 lbs and 31.5 inches. We've been seeing a GI specialist for "Failure to thrive" and it's been driving me crazy with worry. She doesn't eat a lot, but she does tell when she's hungry. I'm not going to force her to eat.

My son is almost 20 months and he weighs about 23lbs and is 35.5 inches. I think at this age the most important thing is to make sure your daughter is eating healthy foods and is playing. If she is active and eating well, she should be fine. She may be going towards a growth spurt. If you are really worried get a second opinion from a different doctor or ask your doctor what s/he suggests you do.

My daughter is 35 inches tall and 25.44 pounds at 19 months. She is 97 percentile for height and 55 for weight. But she appears slim too. For being 36 inches at 18 month i think 31 pounds is just fine.

Wow your daughter is tall, little model in the making. Her weight sounds like it corresponds with her height though so i don't know why your doctor thinks she's over weight.

Serenity is 19 months now, but at her 18 months check up she was 21 lbs 5 oz 30.5 inches.

My twin girls are 21 lbs and 32 in tall and when I see other mothers who have kids their age I feel they are supper small, but given that they were premees and only 3lbs at birth I think there doing great. I wouldn't worry to much, children at this age can carry a little more or less weight and still be healthy.

My 19 month old is almost 31 pounds and is 34 inches tall. My doctor said he was just big for his age. Tall but not too heavy.

My son @18mths weigh 10.1kg and height 85cm. Even my daughtr at that age is around that. They'r tall babies. I guess it's bcos of us(parents) are slim so they follow the genes. but they eat well it's jus that they won't get overweight. I think urs is acceptable if she's eating well & healthtily.

My son is just over 19 months and he weighs 26 pounds and is between 35 and 37 inches tall the doc told me he was perfectly healthy weight and height for his age but I personaly think he doesn't weigh enough. it sounds like your daugther is well propotioned and I think doctors look too much at what the standard is every child grows differently and at their own pace, if she is happy eats healthy and is active then I don't think you have anything to worry about she's perfect

My son is around 36 to 37 inch and he was 14 kilos about 3 months ago when i got sent to the whittington for him growing to quickley( to tall) then they decided after 2 visits he was fat then the 3 visit hes fine not over weight not to tall . He is just a big lad!! he was 10.8 when he was born and is bigger then most of the two and a half year olds that we meet. Infact i am yet to meet a child his age that is bigger or close to being the same size as him. I dont know what he weighs i stopped going to the baby weigh clinics. Im sure your little girl is fine just.

hey, just did the conversion, my 18month old boy weighs 15 and a half kilos, which is about 34 and a bit pounds... I can't remember how tall he is, but he's pretty much as 'over' in height as he is in weight, so it doesn't really bother me apart from that he's heavy to carry! The plunket people and doctors don't have a problem with it either, he's just a big boy.

Wow everyone tells me my daughter is tall... and looks healthy... but she seems tiny compared to the nunu's on here...She went for her check up and the Paed was happy with her. She is a bit on the light side... 10kg... 22lbs? She is in the lower part of the average... The doc told me it is common for 18mo - 24mo to immitate the first 2 months... so if your little one was a a slow starter at weight gain or a fast gainer in the first 2 mo... the graph will repeat now.... I checked with a few friends and my Pead seems to be on to something :)
My daughter says over 120 words clearly and is pretty smart... and she LOVES her food! So I am not too concerned. You are the mommy, you will know if your child is healthy or not :)
I was also advised to drop down formula/milk to only 500ml a day. At this stage they start replacing milk with food.
And with kids over weight... try letting them snack often on healthy stuff... carrot sticks, raisins, dried fruit, tomatoes, pealed apple... then you dont have to feel as if your child is hungry or starving :) My daughter loves pasta, but avoid pasta and breads.. I have a high chance of developing type 2 dibetes and dont want her to have that risk too

My daughter is 34 lbs and 35.5 inches and her doc says she's growing beautifully. She's always been in the 99% for both height and weight so she is proportionate. My father in law said we need to watch her weight, which ticked me off. She is healthy and perfect. Your daughter does not sound overweight to me at all. Toddlers are supposed to be round! They usually start shooting up and thinning out soon anyway.

my daughter is 24.2 and is 31 inches.. she is in the 50% and 30 1/2 inches tall in the 75%... As long as you feed her heathy and you think she dont look over weight than i an sure she is fine... If you feed her alot of snacks than maybe just cut back a little and she will loose it also she has been in side and probably not walking long she will think out... good luck

My daughter is 18 months and is only 20 pounds the doctor said that she's only in the 6th % for her weight but everyone in my family is just small and petite and she eats all the time.. although her height is in like the 57th % at 32 inches.. I think it doesn't really matter as long as they are healthy and eating right

My son is 19 months old tomorrow and is a little over 30 inches and about 22/23 lbs. Our pediatrician told me that he is on the small side because both my husband and I are on the small side. Every child is different. Our doctor told us not to worry about the numbers but to make sure that his growth is consistent for him on his growth chart.

Wow! She is quite tall. My quads range between 32-34 1/4 inches and they are all well above average height. They weigh between 21-26 lbs. My ped is not too concerned about the numbers. He just wants them to eat healthy (they do) and continue to grow (they are). I think as long as she eats a healthy diet, she will be fine and it's nothing to worry about.

According to my Dr. it's all about the growth curve chart: http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/growthcha...

My daughter is 30lbs and 34" tall and the doctor keeps reassuring me that she is not overweight because she has charted the exact curve since being born (she started out big). It's a combination of proportion and pattern more than the actual numbers and if your Pediatrician can't see that it may be time for a new one!

Can you see extra fat on their tummy? If not then they are not over weight. I have been overweight most of the time by the doctor's charts. Do you have a boy? Boys tend to be a bigger and heavier than girls.

To me that sounds fine also she sounds very tall. My daughter is 25lbs and 33 in tall. The more they run around the less they gain. My daughter has gained 3 lbs in almost a year and before that she was huge.

I think the most important thing to relate in this conversation is eating habits and activity level. My son is a big guy, too at 28 and some ozs. and 37 inches. The most important thing to me is following healthy lifestyle decisions. I have taken a bit extra effort to prepare the right meals, balanced and healthy. I check to make sure two veggie serving, 1 fruit, nuts, grains and legumes. And though he is less active than some his age, I try to stimulate him in activities along with dad. I think the most important thing is balance in all of what we do, and sensible food options, fresh foods and healthy lifestyles.

My son is 18 months and is 21 lbs 8 ozs and 30.5 inches long. I just looked up your daughter's percentiles on a growth chart. She is way off the charts for height and approximately 95% for weight. I wouldn't worry about it. By height to weight ratio, she's just fine.

Well, I can't say much because my little guy is a small one. He is only 22 lbs at 18 months. Even though he was in the 5th percentile, they were still worried about child obesity. Therefore, I think they are just trying to get parents to think about the food options they are giving their kids no matter the weight.

I wouldn't worry about it! Just make sure she is active and eating well. Enjoy your little one.
