What's your little ones Name?

[deleted account] ( 101 moms have responded )

What did you name your little one? Is there a story behind it and was it hard to decide? I love hearing baby names, that was one of the funnest parts of the pregnancy!

I knew what I was going to name my first baby the night I found out I was pregnant. I went online and looked up names. I didn't find anything for a long long time, then I decided to look up Italian names. I am Italian so I thought I would give her an Italian first name since she wouldn't have my name. I found the name Sienna almost immediately. It was love at first sight. I knew right away that was her name, I didn't know it was to be a girl but that was going to be her name. Sienna Faye. Faye is my grandmothers name. I just thought that was the most beautiful name I had ever seen. OF course others objected including my husband. But i told him that if we had a boy next he could name him and I didn't like the name he picked out. Thomas Michael. I would have done Michael THomas. Thomas is his name and Michael was his oldest brothers name. Well, we got pregnant again and had another girl. We didn't know what her name was going to be until I was 7 1/2 months pregnant. I let him help pick out the name. He wanted the initials to be CNN so he wanted to do Christie Nicole. I said I don't think so and we searched for more C names. I was ok with Nicole, but I wanted something a little more unique and prettier, (sorry no offense to those whose name is Christie). I looked up a few and we found Cayla. I still wasn't sure I liked it that well with the C in front of it especially. Then we came across the name Kaitlyn. I liked it and then I put the C in place of the K and it worked. SO Caitlyn Nicole it is. I wish we could have given her a family name or something like her sister still but we like her name and we both agreed on it. We call her Kitty Cat for short, Probably Cat when she gets older just because we should change the K to C for Kitty because Citty, just sounds like city.

Rebecca Lynn. My husband wanted to name the baby(we didn't find out what the sex of the baby was before hand) if it was a girl Becky. I said yes but her full name would be Rebecca because as she grew older Rebecca sounded more grown up. I figured she would grow out of Becky or Becca.

My little guys name is Keston Douglas. I made the name up because I really liked Weston and Preston but had heard the name too much... so I went through the alphabet and thought well Keston sounds good. Douglas is after my Father-in-law and Keston adores him... He also has the same initials as his daddy:)

Beau Taylor (14 months) - Beau was just a name we both liked (and we have trouble agreeing on names so it was a miracle!) and Taylor was the last name of a friend of mine who passed away.
Sawyer Dennis (4 years old) - Sawyer is the last name of a friend of my husband's who passed away and my husband's name is Dennis. We decided in the labour room what his name would be. We didn't know if he was a boy or not but we had to pick something! LOL

I named her serenity-isis dali

Serenity after the song by godsmack. Concerts were my life before baby and it was one moment i always remembered, just closing my eyes while he played acoustic and sang. Isis is after the Egyptian goddess of fertility and motherhood. I was told i was not suppose to get pregnant so it was very fitting. Dali is after salvador dali, the artist.

My oldest is named Brandon Lee Griggs Wever, Brandon was from the 90's, he was born in 1995, Lee was after My brother, who got it from my moms father,Griggs is his fathers last name and when I re married my husband adopted him and thats where Wever came from, Then My sencond sons name is Hunter William Wever, Me and My Husband picked names and then let Brandon choose his favorite, I won. Hunter is from TV, William is both My husbands father name and my Other grandfathers name, and he was born in 2003. Then we thought we were done and along came Katelyn Elisabeth Wever, Me and My husband could not agree on a name at all,We went back and forth for months, then we agreed on Katelyn, which came from my list, but her middle name was much harder, He gave me rules for her middle name, It had to start with E or A, It coulnt be longer than her first name. I was pulling out my hair trying to find on I liked too, then 3 weeks before she was born, He came up to me and said How a bout Elisabeth, which broke 3 of his rule for her middle name, I was so mad, I could have came up with it myself, But I loved the way it sounded together, which also happen to be the name of the hospital she was born at in 2005, Then that brings us to my surprise 15 month old. Doctors can be wrong girls! I was told after my second son I couldnt have any more, Now I have two great girls. Well any way, I got that really bad flu and went to the doctor and they thought I had a trck infection, To My surprise, at 4 in the afternoon I get a call , say yes its the flu to stay in bed and ride it out, and take it easy for the baby health, I was like what baby? I told them they had the wrong person that I wasnt with child, she came back and oh yes you are. and She is Emily faye Wever. She got her name from a bad dream I had when I was 124 weeks along, Everyone was teasing me becouse I got so big with her that I was having twins, Which does run in both sides of the family, on this night we went to a family get together, angd my younger brother was teasing all night, and when I fell asleep I had a dream that I had twins a girl named Emily Faye, which Faye is my mothers middle name, and a boy named Eric James, James in my fathers name, when I woke up I told my husband and he said I like both of those names, I said done, with the problems trying to get katelyns name, I said then if its a boy or girl we are alresdy covered,

We had been trying for seveal years to have a 3rd, hopefully a little girl, Our two boys were already 9 and 12. We had finally given up and decided our family was as it was meant to be. We were moving on and content with that. We were sitting around with my family discussing baby names (my brother and sister-in-law were 4 1/2 months pregnant with their 3rd, a girl). My husband made the comment "If we ever had a girl, which we won't, the only name I like is Elizabeth." About two weeks later I found out I was pregnant. When I told him he said "I suppose we're going to get our Elizabeth." And sure enough we did.

I was watching Miami Ink one day and there was a father whose daughter passed and he was getting her name tatood on his arm (which was Teigan), it was the first time I heard the name and I loved it. Corina Lee. My niece named my first child. I am very close to my family and my husband and I loved the idea. Corina is my niece's middle name and she picked my middle name for the middle name of my daughter. I think it worked out great. Plus you do not hear the name Corina very often which is a bonus as well.

I named my daughter Kendall Marie. My best friend in high school's name was Ashley Marie Kendall and she helped me through some really tough times. I probably wouldn't be here if it weren't for her, so I thought it fitting to name my daughter after her. I'm pregnant right now and if it's a girl, we will be naming her Rosalie Nicole. We named our son Kael Haden. Sadly it has no family ties. Too many cousins and siblings are named after family members in both of our families. Plus, he's the first grandchild on both sides and there was a lot of pressure, and heavy expectations, from everyone as to what family name we would use. We didn't want to disappoint so we went for originality.

my little man, whos will be 1 on the 29th, is named Ian Riley. Ian after a friend i had in grade school. always loved the name, just kinda stuck with me, and its the only name that my husband really liked. and Riley is my maternal grandmothers maiden name. it just sounded perfect to us. funny thing is we just call him moose.

[deleted account]

My son's name is Blydan Joseph. Blydan is a combination of my maiden name and my hubby's first name. And Joseph is a family name on my husbands side. We're naming our daughter Aurora Nikole. Nichole is my sister, so she'll be named after her aunt, but she'll have a K in her name so she has something from Mommy too : )

My son's full name is Francisco Alberto Collazo III. We had many great creative names picked out but since he was born so close to his dad's birthday we (I) decided to name him after his father. His grandfather was so happy. They are only 11 days apart so Sept. is a busy month for me! Also noone calls him by his name. His grandfather is Frank, his dad is Frankie so I call him Baby Frankie. One of my sister in law calls him nugget and my brother in law calls him chupa and my mother calls him gordo. LOL My son was almost 10lbs so he's alittle big for his age. No matter what he's my baby love Frankie

My little one is Xander Russell. Russell is my dad's middle name and we wanted to name the baby after him. Xander is a version of Alexander and I thought it sounded cute with his older brother's name (Zach). It is funny though because my dad refused to call him anything but Alex for the first 6 months because he is kind of contrary.

Was Xander is real name, or is it a nickname for Alexander? I always hated it when people would decide on their own what to call your children. If you name them something, it was for a reason, and not for them to be called something else instead.

Sunshine Jean. Yes, Sunshine really is her name. My DH and I named her in memory of a miscarriage I had several years before. We had called that baby Sunshine not knowing if we were having a boy or a girl. We also LOVE unusual names, so Sunshine it was.

Her middle name "Jean" is my mother's middle name. We call her "Sunni" or "Sunni Jean" for short.
