I dont know why women do not admit it. I am like Emma. I admit it readily when people ask. Most of my girlfriends are embarrassed and refuse to talk about it. I just tell people it is natural everyone masturbates or lies about it and if you do not you are missing out.
Now I dont just walk up to people and say hey I was taking care of myself earlier but if the topic comes up I will admit it. I would say it has something to do with purity but that does not make sense to me either. When I was younger I told some of my friends I would masturbate to avoid having sex with guys and getting pregnant and they were surprised I would say such a thing.
Maybe people are not yet ready to admit women have the same desires as men and satisfy them the same way.

Women are given confusing dual signals in life. In which we are shown from an early age that showing off our body sexuality attracts men, but if we have too much sex we are labeled as whores, and sluts. I mean a guy bangs as many girls as he wants, girls laugh, boys cheer him. Girls do it and they get an easy reputation linked with a lack of respect. I think this goes even into masturbation.

I don't know why woman don't admit it either. I've told my husband that I do it, and one of my fantasies was for him to watch. But when the time came for me to do it in front of him, he didn't seem that interested. Part of it was my fault. I couldn't relax enough to even enjoy it, he was watching his sports and not really even paying attention to me anyways. I truthfully, don't think there is anything wrong with woman masturbating. We have to release our sexual tension too, not just men. We might be different genders, but we were all created with the same nerve endings. LOL

Yes i doubt i would announce at book club that that's what i was doing before coming hear lol, As everything there is a time and a place to discuss things.
I just seams strange as we woman are famous for talking about everything with our female friends that there would still be such a taboo.
I have always been quite mater of fact about it but most of my friends have always been guys and the couple of times ive been asked directly about it my responses has always been well we all know you do it so what would make you think i don't.... My male friends have more often than not especially in our younger years been shocked to hear a woman admit it, as there girlfriends and wife's say they never have.

It probably goes back to the day when women weren't supposed to enjoy sex , only lie back and think of England - or where ever, which wasn't really all that long ago - my mum wasn't told about womens side of pleasure and though she was dying the first time she had an orgasm. I'm sure eventually it will change but just needs some more time.
