I seriously dread the weekends. I wish my SK can get along with my child! Its so sad they don't , they will get along for a minute then go right back to arguing. when does it end!? Oh yeah right it doesnt.

Hang in there ladies! My kids are now teens and get along for the most part; however, that wasn't always the case and I was in your shoes. It was exhausting just being in the same room with them because I was constantly refereeing and scolding, etc. I've posted here (a while ago) about all the things I tried: time-outs, taking privileges away, etc. but to be honest, the thing that helped the most was TALKING and TIME. I never stopped telling them what I expected of them -- you don't have to be best friends, but you have to respect each other and that means no name calling, hitting, etc. Also, whenever there was a "truce" moment, I'd ask them how the situation could have been handled differently next time, etc. We spoke about ways to work it out themselves, without me refereeing all the time. These are life skills they need to know with future co-workers. -- and eventually the message DID get through. It took a lot of patience on my part and I honestly felt like it would NEVER happen, but with TIME -- and maturity -- they outgrew it. Hope this helps in some way! Take care, ~~ Maggie

My kids are blood and they are constantly throwing insults, physically fighting and arguing over clothes, shoes, toys and using the computer.
