i started signing with my daughter at 6 months old she doesnt know many signs
baba/milk
change
eat/bite
please
help
medicine

the signs i have taught her after 1 she has learned to say the word only a few weeks after signing it, now when ever i try to sign with her a word i think is more difficult to say she either signs and says it at the same time everytime or she decides to say it instead. im so excited about the results i have been getting and look forward to signing with my future children.

just thouhgt i would share with everyone because i no that some people who are opposed to baby signing say that it can delay speech and in my case it has helped.....:) keep signing everyone and good luck

my daughter at 18 months has quite a few 2 word phrases such as "more please" "up please" "thank you" and the list goes on but this last week she started saying "wheres my daddy" "wheres my mommy" "what you doing"

I'm with you Chelsea. I started signing with Cadence around 8 months. At 14 months, she is a communicating machine. For many words she will sign and say them at the same time. For a few words, she's pretty much dropped the signing. Between talking and signing, she can probably communicate somewhere between 80 and 100 words. And she's already putting words together (more + please and baby + dog, etc) It's awesome.
