6 year old boy, being very disruptive and emotional

so I have a recently turned 6 year old boy that has become the child I cant control or no longer know how to control. He will not talk to me.....throws insane temper tantrums, and even in school he has become disruptive. its almost like he goes through mood swings that i cant even keep up with. Is there a age group that I didnt get the memo on, or is there something wrong? Another down fall is he really will no longer talk to me, open up with me....its like he changed almost overnight. He went from my lil boy to this child that I really cannot grip!! Please help!

Did he just start school? Because starting school can be more traumatic for some kids than others. It could also be that there's an issue in the class. My child went from well controlled to tantrums when she met a super-bully who preyed on all her weaknesses, and did it out of the teacher's sight so only my daughter was getting in trouble. Once I was able to get it out of her, the school worked with me to help her develop class friends who basically stuck up for her and helped protect her from the bully by ensuring she was no longer the friendless child.
