Hi,

I have written a book on raising children of divorce. My focus in writing the book was to give "Children of Divorce" a voice. Please take a moment and check my website.

Hi Patricia, It sounds like he is feeling the burden of the divorce and feels a need to protect you. Let him know that his dad loves him just like you do and you both want him to have fun with both parents. Sometimes kids feel that they are disloyal to you if they go with the other parent. We need to assure them that is not the case. The divorce is between you and your ex, not the children and their parents. My book covers a lot of these feelings. If you are interested, you can see it on my website. www.mkit-consulting.com. It will tell you a little about what the book covers. My approach is to present a problem, and a solution to the problem.
