Any single moms of twins?

Hi Alicia,  I was just reading through the topics just joined the Circle of Moms today!  I am a single mom of 4year old boy girl twins.  I went through the pregnancy and the raising of my children on my own.  The babies father did not want a second family and I decided to do this on my own.  My family lives at least 250km away so I did it on my own!  I was very lucky to have a great supportive group of friends who have been very surportive.  I am not trying to make it sound easy as that would be a lye. We have had many challenges' along the way!

I am a single mom of twin boys, now 5 and their older brother is 6, just 11 months older than them. I also have an 11 yr old son and a 13 yr old daughter. I will say that I didnt sleep for the first 5 months. You need to surround yourself with loving friends and family. Dont be afraid to ask for help. I know that we try to put on a good show and try to make it seem like we got it all together, when we dont. It does get easier the older they get. One of the things that saved me when they got a little older was walkers for them all. That meant 3 walkers. This helped because it limited what they could grab and they could still see each other and be social. If you are trying everything and they dont seem to stop crying then maybe they just need each other. I put them on a blanket and let feel and touch each other.

hello i am a single mum of twins a boy an girl like ya self. i had a lot of help off my mum when they was born as i have got a 2 yr old aswell as a 5 yr old too. i lived with my mum 4 about 8 wks after the birth of the twins. it gets harder as they get older let me tell u especially when there getting about its funny though really cause u just need eyes in the bak of ur head with them haha.

Hi! My name is Heather. I am a single mom to twins and a singleton prior to the twins. I have been on my own since my oldest was 2 and the twins 2 months. It does get easier. The first year was a blur, but it got better.

Hi my name is Tara and I'm a single mom of 13 mo old b/g twins. I was lucky enuf to have my dad around for the first few months to help out. I also have a 5yr old and a 2yr old too. There r groups out there who can help too, I have a group called the family center who sends help to parents who need it and it made a dif for me and my kids. Don't be afraid to ask for some help, we all need it sometimes.

Hi Alicia - I am a single mom of triplets - my gang is 6 years old (mine were 2 month preemies also). Hang in there, it does get easier.
