I had Mirena and I didnt like it at all. I now have the paraguard IUD and like it a lot. I had a constant 3 month period with Mirena as well as abdominal pain and it sucked :/ Now, I have regular periods, and dont have any mood swings. For the first 2 months when It was close to that time of the month, i did have some cramping but not anymore. it's been about 6 months that I've had Paraguard. I wouldnt trust just using condoms

i started with the pill after i had my daughter but it made me sick all f the time. after about 6 months on it i switched to the depo shot cuz i didnt want my period since it was so painful, but the shot ended up making me bleed for 2-3 months at a time with only 4 days of not bleeding in between...and i have never had the nuva ring but i know many people who have had serious problems with it such as blood clots and strokes!

A while back I had the depo shot and it was a horrible expirience. This was years before I got pregnant. lol. I only had the shot one time, and it did work as birth control, because I had my period for 3 months, and therefore was not having sex! I would get a day or two here and there without my period, but ultimately, MOST of the time I had it and I just had to wait for the effects to wear off. It was a 3 month shot... Horrible. lol That doesn't happen to everyone. I ahve heard of people who had the shot and didnt get a period at all, or people who get maybe one but its short, but what happened to me is a very real thing that can happen. Everyone reacts differently. After my daughter was born I went on the pill for 3 months on, a week off, and I loved it, but I forgot to take it sort of often, so when it was time to refill, I skipped it. I'm not on any birth control right now, but I am also not sexually active and don't plan to be for a little while. If and when I DO find someone I would want to get intimate with, I want to form a relationship first, and the lack of birth control (i'm allergic to latex so I HAVE to be on something since non-latex have a much higher fail rate) will help to ensure that. XP At the point when it may get sexual, that's when I'll revisit my birth control options, so that is why I'm no longer on it. Either way, if you can remember the pill, that's a good way to go, especially if you don't want a period. An IUD is awesome for long term (I actually knew someone who had one that fell out. lol I dont know how.) but it CAN cause damage, but so can any birth control technically. I would never reccomend the shot because of my expirience, but some people do love it. I think there's a monthly shot, but dont quote me on that. A condoms are good to use no matter what, and always good to use when you have no other method in place. XP
