when i had my son my ex signed the registation at the hospital. my sons two and im still trying to get his birth certificate. my ex hasn't been around for a year and a half. if he never signed the brith certificate but did sign the registration what kind of rights does he have? could he argue a name change?

we have two kids my daughter has my last name but my son has his, i want us all to have my last name so its not confusing. if i got the birth certifcate and he wasn't around to sign could i do this without his permission?

You can change his name go to the family court clerk
