Do some fun everyday activities with him.
1. When you are shopping give him the list and the budget. He has to keep track of and compare prices, estimate how much the shopping is going to cost, figure out change etc.
2. Cook together - especially baking -- he can do the measuring etc. double or triple or half recipes so he has to think about fractions etc.
3. Compete with him in mental maths in the car, when you go for a walk etc. e.g. double 133 then get him to test you. If he can beat you then he gets a reward of some kind - such as getting to pick the tv programme.
4. Chess is fantastic for strategic thinking (that's great for maths). When teaching I have run chess clubs - its a great way to engage boys especiall 10, 11, 12 year olds.
