How do I teach my son to go potty the boy way?

I agree with letting him go outside if you live in an area where you can do that. As far as the other I let my son run around the house naked so he would get used to not being able to go in his pants. I have to say that I only had to clean up once or twice. The other thing that helped him was he wanted to wear big boy underwear so I would put them on but told him that whatever character he was wearing would be sad and upset if he had an accident because they wouldn't want ot be yucky. That did help because he didn't want to make them upset. Also by bringing him around other kids that are potty trained. They really do immitate other kids as I'm sure you know

I toilet trained my two year old in one day - just let him stand on the back deck and aim for our dog running down below (trust me the dog was never in any danger! LOL) he thought it was so much fun and it worked a treat!

monkey see monkey do. have male family members show him how boys go potty. with poop i think just watching for his cues. Good Luck!

just be patiient with him...mine just did pee like a boy on his own, I passed him the potty one day then instead of sitting he just stood n did it since then he has been doing it......

My mom always used cheerios and told them to aim for it in the tolet so they thought it was a game.

So I had exactly the same problems. To get him to pee standing up, lol, I actually had him pee on a wall outside... long story... but it worked. He wouldn't poop in the potty, either. I just got to where I recognized the face he made when he was about to go, then when he went in the potty I told him how big of a boy he was and how proud I am of him. That kinda worked. Then I got him the wet wipes, and he only got to use them when he pooped. That was like magic. Just don't give up.l I'm so glad I didn't!

My son sat down & used the potty for awhile too. I started putting chereo's in the potty & made a game out of it(Can you hit the cheereo's). I also had my older nephew(who is 3 years older than him) take him in the bathroom when he went so my son could actually see what I was trying to get him to do. Now going poop in the potty is something totally different. I put underware on my son & he pooped in them but didn't like the feel of the poop in his underware(the diaper absorbs the moisture while underware doesn't) he never pooped in his pants again. I would suggest making it a big deal(talking to him about it & how big boys poop in the potty) maybe even reward him or tell him when he starts pooping in the potty like a big boy than you will take him.... or get him....but not everytime just after he does it a few times.
